Amazing from Start to Finish

Retirement holiday for my husband. Flew to Buenos Aires and went straight to La Bamba - an Estancia in the Argentine Pampas - the highlight of our holiday - the most amazing experience. Enjoyed Tour of all the sights and Brazilian BBQ before travelling up the coast to spend the last three days in Buzios.

Amazing Peru Tour

Journey Latin America organised a tour of Peru for us which included The Sacred Valley, Cusco, Machu Picchu and a stay in the rain forest. We had an amazing time and Machu Picchu was an incredible experience that we will never forget.

Unforgettable scenery to match anything in the world

We travelled to Santiago in Chile, then down to Patagonia and the Torres del Paine, before going into Argentina, glaciers and the Fifzroy mountain range. Finally we flew to Buenos Aires for four nights.

Rating for tour operator:

The level of service was excellent throughout from the time we enquired through to our return and beyond. Arrangements were smooth and our tour leader was particularly good, matching our needs and requirements perfectly and in a straightforward manner. We cannot fault the holiday itself. We have been most impressed by the level of service when our first flight (London to Madrid) was cancelled at 23.55 hrs , causing us to miss our connection to Santiago and to miss a day of our holiday. The airline (BA/Iberia) was hopeless giving little information and no assistance beyond a hotel for what remained of the night. We called our tour operator in the early hours of the morning and they provided assistance and support overnight, and contacted us again the next morning to make sure that we were on track. On our return to the UK they have assisted us in our claim for compensation. Much appreciated a nod a professional service all round

Next day private transfer to Cayo las Brujas(2 nights), quite old state run hotel but in very good condition, beautiful beach and very friendly staff. Transfer to Trinidad (3 nights)best city of Cuba very lively and interesting, beautiful home stay, great guide tour. Bus transfer to Habana "interesting to travel on a bus in Cuba" (30 min late and a flat tyre)but we got to Vinales (2 nights), little bit to touristic for our liking but we choose to go there for the cigars and the views, just incredible! After a short boat trip to Cayo Levisa (2 nights)found a beautiful beach and incredible completely secluded room 10 metres from the beach! what else do you want on holidays? shame it rain the last day still is beautiful and hot all day long, we travelled back to Habana for the last night. Honestly I hardly recommend to go to Cuba, is incredibly beautiful, prepare yourself with mosquito repellent (use citronella) and sun cream, and to see some very happy poor people, they really make the difference to the country the Amazing Cubans!

Jaguar spotting in the Pantanal.

We spent the first 5 nights in the Pantanal, including 2 at Porto Joffre dedicated to jaguar spotting. We finally drove up into the mountains surrounding Rio to Petropolis, where we had a half-day tour with an extremely knowledgeable guide, before being taken to a very beautiful and remote mountain lodge (found by me ...

We then flew to Rio de Janeiro, spending 3 nights in a hotel overlooking Copacabana Beach (JLA's excellent recommendation). We finally drove up into the mountains surrounding Rio to Petropolis, where we had a half-day tour with an extremely knowledgeable guide, before being taken to a very beautiful and remote mountain lodge (found by me but arranged by JLA even thought they do not usually offer either the tour or the accommodation).

Rating for tour operator:

They are one of the most efficient companies I have ever dealt with. Their knowledge of their subject is highly impressive, and they provide good and helpful advice (such as steering us towards the Pantanal rather than the Amazon for greater opportunities to see and photograph wildlife). They provide excellent recommendations as to accommodation, but are always happy to arrange any alternatives we suggest. They are also willing to adapt itineraries to include locations they do not normally include. The best example I can provide of their level of service, was when I telephoned their emergency helpline at 5.30am, having been told by our airline that they had cancelled the flight to Europe to pick up our connection to Central America. The phone was answered almost immediately, and within 1/2 hour they had arranged alternative flights that would get us to our destination only slightly later than planned.
