" a nightmare "!

I was forced to abort my trip at the last minute due to the death of fidel castro and there is no system in place for this type of "disaster" ! no point in going all the way to Havana for a close down of everything due to country in mourning

I'm sorry you decided to cancel your trip due to the death of Fidel Castro the morning you were due to travel. We were surprised when you didn’t arrive at the airport and had we been aware of any concerns I'm positive we would have reassured you that your holiday could still successfully go ahead at that time.

I'm pleased we have since been able to help arrange your trip to Cuba later this year.

This is my third tour with this company, and I have always been very happy with the service that they provide, both here in the UK and abroad. Our guide Etienne was and is excellent, and it was a pleasure to be in his company for the duration of the tour. The group was very small - four people. So, it felt like a very personal services. I would not hesitate to recommend Journey Latin America to anyone.

This has been my third tour with Journey Latin America, and on each occasion I have found them to be very helpful and accommodating.

This is the third tour that we have done with JLA. They provide plenty of information before booking, thorough itinerary information before the journey and excellent support throughout the whole process. I recommend them to everyone thinking of visiting Latin America.

We added a trip to Easter Island following a South America cruise which ended in Valparaiso. Journey Latin America arranged hotels on the mainland , flights to Easter Island, hotel on the Island, sightseeing trips and all transfers. The whole trip was most enjoyable and very well organised.

Great organisation, even to the point of when minor things went wrong outside of their control the local agencies managed to find solutions.Every single pick up was on time and exceptional service when a local strike brought forward our hotel departure from 10.00am to 05.00am our local guide arranged earlier transport and stayed with us for 5 hours until our flight was checked in. The overall service was exceptional.

Excellent intro to Mexico, particularly the ancient Mayan and Axtec ruins (Eagle tour)

Very well organised trip, and superb tour leader. The itinerary was varied, although very busy. Very informative, and a mix of Mayan ruins, understanding of indigenous people, and some other sites to add variety to the journey. Always good drivers (minibus tour) and always good local guides with a passion for their subject. The size of the group (12 people) worked well too - or perhaps we were just lucky with our travel companions! However, ...

Always good drivers (minibus tour) and always good local guides with a passion for their subject. Rating for tour operator:

As above. A delightful character who always made the day go better. Clearly well organised and prepared, but she was always quick to spot any problems developing and sort them out, whether it was a problem with an order in a restaurant, or noisy neighbours in a hotel room, or one or two members struggling with the steep steps of the pyramids at the archaeological sites. She also knew enough about the sites we visited that if we missed/did not understand something from the local guide, she could add the extra information or explain about it later - she knew her patch well and enthusiastically.

Fabulous Trip!

Flew to Lima, from there to Cusco and on by train to Machu Picchu. From there back to Cusco and on by train (which was glorious) to Puno to stay on the shore of Lake Titicaca. While there we visited the Uros Islands. Next a morning drive took us across the border to Bolivia. We visited Copacabana, cruised on the lake, visited the Sun Island and then by road to La Paz where we saw the colonial buildings, witches market and rode the cable car to el alto. We then flew back to Lima and on to Iguassu to see the falls. That was followed by a week in the Pantanal, jaguar spotting at Porto Joffre and land based activities and Pousada Arraras . Finally we arrived in Rio and had 4 glorious days sightseeing and lazing on Copacabana beach!

Rating for tour operator:

Before I booked I had quite definite ideas of what the itinerary would be and from my first conversation with JLA they were really helpful in telling me what might not work and suggesting additions to get the best out of our trip. Their support in planning and booking was excellent. All our arrangements were perfect - all our guides/transfers were punctual, efficient and very friendly and helpful. Hotels and travel arrangements were excellent. I can't recommend Journey Latin America highly enough!

Peru in Depth by Emily, 4 Nov 2016

A varied, challenging and enriching tour

This tour of Peru and Bolivia covered a lot of ground and a range of interesting places and experiences. As well as Macchu Picchu, we saw other Incan and earlier sites, and had the opportunity to visit families on the Uros and the altiplano. The cities of Arequipa, La Paz and Cuzco provided a contrast. Overall it was a well-balanced and rewarding trip.
