Luxury Brazil by Mrs K T 17, 1 Nov 2017
Holiday Rating:

Tavel arrangements all ran to plan and this was a great relief in a country where we had no local language and very few people spoke anything other than Portuguese.

We had a planned tour of highlights of Brazil. The trip gave us an excellent feeling for the diversity in this HUGE country.

Rating for tour operator:

There was a large amount of traveling but all the arrangements went smoothly. Any questions we had were promptly handled by support from the UK office.

Signature Argentina & Brazil by Rob Hume, 30 Oct 2017

An Unforgettable Trip

Our tour was organised by Journey Latin America to our requirements and lasted just over 3 weeks taking in Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina. We visited Rio de Janiero, Iguassu Falls, Buenos Aires, Mendoza, Salta, the Andes and Patagonia. Our best moments were our self-drive road trip through Purmamarca, Cafayate and Molinos and wildlife watching in Patagonia but we also loved our time in Rio.

Rating for tour operator:

The varied itinerary was well thought through and well paced. The pre-travel information, guide books and itinerary were all very clear. Our operator was well informed, flexible responsive and helpful. The general standard of hotels was very good and transfers punctual, smooth and well managed. When we did hit a problem (a lightning 1 day strike by Argentinian Airlines), our operator stepped in an organised new flights and overnight accommodation, so support from home was excellent. Representatives in all of the places that we stayed were well informed, helpful and pleasant. We have already recommended JLA to friends.

Trailblazing the Guianas by Turf Moor, 27 Oct 2017

Cock up o the rock

Bad value for money and uninspiring tour leader. Obviously some decent highlights but only 5 or 6 out of 10 overall

Rating for tour operator:

First time with JLA and most expensive trip ever for me. Sorely overpriced for what we got and other operators give much better overall experince

Journey Latin America / Journeyscape responded to this review on 17 Nov 2017:

We were disappointed you did not thoroughly enjoy your tour to Guyana, Suriname and French Guyana. Whilst admittedly the nature of the 'Trailblazing the Guyana's' tour is different to our other group trips, we hope and expect that the allure of exploring these more remote and less well visited destinations to be overwhelmingly positive.

Journey Latin America / Journeyscape responded to this review on 17 Nov 2017:

Where travel to these countries is perhaps more expensive than one would expect, we will look into the issues raised as we do aim for all our tours to exceed expectations and take pride in the standard and performance of our tour leaders. We will be in touch.

Amazing scenery and weather, accommodation and organisation disappointing

Guided W ttrek in Torres del Paine. Scenery was stunning, weather was great, walking was harder than advertised, certainly not moderate (over 75km in 4 days over rugged mountainous terrain) Guide was knowledgable but not very strong at managing the group. Accommodation and food were disappointing. Ecocamp had several elements that were not very 'eco'

Rating for tour operator:

JLA knowledgeable and answered queries quickly. Some information pre trip could improve in terms of equipment needed. Also a questionnaire to ascertain information on trekking experience and motivation would improve the experience as guide & groups could be allocated more appropriately

Excellent non-stop tour of South America

We had a well organised and efficient holiday in Peru and Brazil. Our Tour Operator was helpful and well informed. The local agents (in Peru especially) were helpful, confident and good at what they did. The Tour Guides we had were very good and kept things on track without impeding on the places we visited. Our time in the Peruvian Amazon was a highlight, made so by the amazing staff and facilities.

Amazing Peru

JLA provided us with a personalised itinerary to explore key places in Peru. The trip was well planned to allow for acclimatisation to altitude. Hotels were excellent and well located and we visited amazing places, Arequipa, Colca canyon, lake Titikaka, Cusco, Sacred valley, Machu Pichu, and Amazon Rainforest.

Rating for tour operator:

They are amazing. I wouldn't go to central or South America with any other . This is the second time we've used them. They are a responsible tour operator that fits with our principles of supporting local business. The hotels are small independents and the guides all local. Everything is very effienctly done and my husband and I felt safe in their hands
