We took a two-centre holiday with Prestige in Sicily; travelling first to Agrigento, where our hotel room at the Colleverde had views over the Valley of Temples. We had 3 nights here and our first day was mostly taken up with a visit to the Valley. As you enter the Valley through the main ticket office at the eastern end, there is a small kiosk with a company that runs electric scooter tours, complete with a guide (Tony was our man and it was like having a personal friend along who happened to know all about the area). It was quite simply the perfect way for us to see the whole of the amazing site without becoming too destroyed by the walk and the heat. Colleverde's reception was able to book ahead for us and ensure that we had an English speaking guide. He was ready and waiting when we arrived and also made some recommendations for other attractions (non fee-paying attractions, so assured he wasn't getting a bung for promoting them) which we visited and spent another wonderful day. The Scala de Turchi is a fascinating rock formation on the coast just a few miles along and it is neighboured by Majala beach, which has a fabulous beach restaurant serving locally caught fish of all sorts among the rest of the menu. The Colleverde Hotel itself was a sort of colonial-looking affair, with wonderfully idiosyncratic ornamentation in a traditionally Sicilian style all about the place. The staff were friendly and very efficient; and we really had the impression that they were pleased to have us staying. Whilst they remained very professional at all times, there was a more relaxed feeling about their communication with us which made us feel very comfortable rather than necessarily having to metaphorically "sit up straight" the whole time. The food at Colleverde was excellent (that lemon risotto starter was an absolute delight!) and the setting for outdoor dining, beautiful. Spectacular gardens surround the whole hotel; and the only reason they don't have a pool (which was a shame, but with the sea just down the road, no problem really) is because of the extraordinary amount of archaeological stuff going on just beneath the surface of the whole area, they aren't allowed to dig there! Five stars! We then drove across to Syracusa, where we had a week in the most pleasurable Borgo Platano agriturismo location. We have never stayed anywhere quite so perfect and I suspect we never will again! The location was beautiful. The old farm has been turned into the most remarkable combination of renovated rustic and contemporary. The grounds seem to go on forever, with a variety of lemon, olive and loquat trees, lawns and more ornamental planting. The pool is a most enticing feature, surrounded by decking and featuring several different depths of water. The bar at the side of the pool has everything you could hope for (including local wines and indigenous craft beers!) and a covered tent area houses 10 tables for lunchtime dining al fresco too. The food... THE FOOD!!! A beautiful menu for every evening, with changing dishes each night as well as an sturdy basis of most excellent offerings available every night. It's largely locally sourced (if not entirely) and all of the very highest standard. The wine list is very broad and has a price for everybody to not be embarrassed by - again, almost exclusively Sicilian. If you're confused by any of it, there's also a very reliable sommelier on hand to help you choose. All of this presupposes the possibility that you have managed to work of the enormous and extensive breakfast which just seems to go on forever. Everything form fresh fruit and cheeses and cold meats and cereal, to tiny freshly-made fruit tarts, cakes of all sorts, teas and coffees in any fashion you care for... It's endless! And every meal is waited by friendly, smiling, happy, effortlessly efficient staff who never fail to greet with a hearty "Bongiorno" or wish you "Arrivederci" or "Domani" when you leave. There is too much good to be said about the Borgo Platano, but somehow none of it seems sufficient! Just perfect! Never mind 5 stars... This is a 6! Whichever of these places you go to, don't miss out on a visit also to the Piazza de Armerina for the stunning Roman mosaics. If everywhere in the Prestige portfolio is as good as these 2 destinations, then somebody is doing an impossibly perfect job of sourcing them. Hats off! Bellisima!

Rating for tour operator:

Prestige have really got a pair of perfect hotel destination sin the ones we stayed at. Both Colleverde in Agrigento and Borgo Platano just outside Syracusa are absolutely perfect in every way. We wouldn't think twice about booking with Prestige again. It's a no-brainer! If these two are typical of what Prestige have to offer, they have every right to be very proud indeed of their service. we will definitely be coming back to Sicily and wouldn't consider travelling with anybody else after this experience.

Rating for tour operator:

From original booking to arrival of travel documents all very quick and straightforward - even to the point that they supplied our on-line boarding passes in advance, so saving us the bother. Questions asked answered very quickly. One always expects transfers to be effiently carried out, but this required a rep with transport at the airport, one at the ferry and a third on arival in Brac. The plane was late arriving, but all went without a hitch. Return very similar. Excellent service from rep on the island, and good tours easily arranged - again done well due to going off the island once.

We were met by a representative at the airport, who accompanied us to our taxi, having given us an information pack. Another representative visited us at our hotel the following morning to discuss our plans and, at our request, arranged an excursion for us and booked a superior table at a restaurant. It was made clear that two representatives were available for us to contact 24 hours a day, should we wish to. Our return taxi was arranged and we were met at the airport by a representative who accompanied us throughout the check-in process. At all times during our holiday, we felt completely supported by the tour operator. If you're looking for a good tour operator, this is the one.

This was the third time we have been to Port de Pollenca staying at the Illa d'Or hotel each time. From the time we made our booking in February 2106 to the actual holiday in September anticipation grew and although we knew that there had been a full refurbishment at the hotel we were not disappointed. We needed a relaxing holiday and that is what we had. The local Presitige resort Manager welcomed us and kept dircreetly away but essentially in touch. There were changes to the hotel but taking plus' and minus' into account there is now douby that we would repeat the holiday and start with the future with Prestige Holidays. I need disables assistance not being able to walk distances, climb stairs etc. We flew with Ryan Air and the assisrance left much to be desired particularly returning to Stansted. I would look into the small print to see actually what service is provided. It is difficult being left at baggage reclaim my wife having to pust the wheelchair with two cases as well!

Rating for tour operator:

From the booking to the return to the UK fully lived up to our expectations. Perhaps the operator could help to define the actual disabled assistance that would be provided. The small print in the flight company's can be misleading

Hello Mr Kingsbury and thank you for getting in touch. Firstly I am delighted that you enjoyed your third visit to the Illa d'Or and that the refurbishment pleased you.I am also very happy that our resort manager looked after you well.
On the subject of assistance at Stansted I am sorry that this was not up to scratch. we have an email from Ryanair dated 6 Sept confirming that they had booked assistance, but this service is actually carried out by the airport staff not the airline. I would like to suggest that on your next visit you give us the opportunity to try to improve
the level of service for you and your wife. Please let Premier and me know personally.John Dixon MD Prestige Holidays

My wife and I have just spent a wonderful week 7th-14th Sept.2016 on a return visit to Salo, Lake Garda. The Hotel Laurin exceeded our expectations both in terms of comfort and facilities and the staff were very courteous and helpful. Since we like to dine out to immerse ourselves in the local culture we enjoyed excellent dinners in a variety of restaurants offering high standard of cuisine, reasonably priced. Our flights were with a TUI company and thanks to the assistance of Prestige we were able to access flights direct from Glasgow to Verona, with private transfer provided. The excellent weather ensured that we had a restful and reinvigorating holiday.

Rating for tour operator:

I contacted Prestige Holidays to assess holiday options and they were very efficient. They deal with Kenneth Macleod Travel in Glasgow, with whom we have a long standing relationship, and the booking was finalised through KMT. Due to the excellent impression given in my negotiations with Prestige we booked a second holiday at the same time for a return visit to Madeira in October 2016.
