Relaxing

All arrangements thorough and worked smoothly and couldn't have asked more of hotel facilities and staff even though busier than on previous occasions.

A great week in Dubrovnik !

Our first time to Croatia, Dubrovnik specifically. Excellent from start to finish. Prestige arrangements on our behalf worked like clockwork. Our holiday was therefore relaxed and hassle free.

Corte del Sole Sicily

The Corte del Sole hotel was a set of beautifully converted farm buildings with many nice places to sit and relax. The staff were friendly and helpful. The site, just outside of Noto was well placed for exploring the baroque cities of south east Sicily.

We had very little contact with Prestige Holidays as we booked through Carolyn Lodge travel agents of Cranleigh, Surrey. We have used Carolyn Lodge for many years and they are always very helpful and friendly. The Prestige rep contacted us at the beginning of the week to check everything was fine, but as we did not have any problems we did not need any extra help form her.

Prestige Travel responded to this review on 18 Oct 2016:

Hello Mrs Balchin
I am delighted you had an enjoyable stay at the Corte del Sole. I agree the area is really beautiful and the Baroque cities are so interesting to explore.

Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and good quality local produce. The atmosphere and service at dinner reflect the 5 star rating, but the food didn't quite live up to expectation and the price. The hotel is 10 minutes walk from Split centre and across the road from the beach. Split is a lovely, unique town. Don't miss the Mestrovic Gallerjie where the sculptor lived and showed his work. Walk in the Marin Park and beside the sea. There are many interesting day trips available. Highlights for us were Brac Island by ferry and Mostar by coach.

Rating for tour operator:

Prestige Holidays really impressed us with their efficiency and attention to detail. Their representative in Split, Iris, was very friendly and knowledgeable. She gave us lots of ideas for days out in and around Split and her recommendations proved to be spot on.

25th September Flight from Gatwick to Palermo and 5 nights at Hotel Principe Di Villafranca. A warm welcome and helpful suggestions at the front desk; the hotel is about a 30 minute walk to the old town, in a quiet residential area of Palermo surrounded by several good restaurants and bars. We enjoyed visiting the Cathedral and The Norman Castle, as well as just strolling the streets exploring the many varied sights and sounds. A visit to the Catacombe dei Cappuccini was certainly an experience to remember. While in Palermo we also had an excursion to Monreale Cathedral and a full day visit to the Valley of the Temples at Agrigento. We then had a 3 hour private car transfer to Taormina where we stayed at Excelsior Palace Hotel for a further 5 nights where we were able to catch up on some welcome rest and recuperation after our fairly hectic Palermo schedule. The hotel is ideally situated to explore the "picture postcard" town of Taormina with a welcome pool and lovely terrace. While in Taormina we used the hop on hop off bus to tour the area and particularly enjoyed the trip to the village of Castelmola where there are some stunning views. The Greek Theatre was also well worth the short walk. From Taormina we were able to arrange a days cruise around the Aeolian Islands which included a chance to see Stromboli in action at sunset - unfortunately it was very passive on the evening of our visit, but still got some memorable photos. The final leg of our holiday was by private transfer to Ortigia and 4 nights stay at the Agila Charme Hotel. After our first night we requested a change of room and our request was handled courteousy and efficiently by the staff resulting in a splendid end to our holiday. While in Ortigia we again made use of the local bus to visit the Archeological Park and Museum. A lovely town to just wander and stumble across the many varied sights, bars and restaurants. Private transfer to Catania Airport for our flight home.

Rating for tour operator:

Prestige handled all of the travel arrangements, including flights, hotels and transfers in a very efficient manner. Their local representative on Sicily (Ilona) kept in constant contact throughout our stay providing useful help and advice. I would not hesitate to recommend Prestige and would certainly consider using them in the future.

The hotel was well located although at the bottom of a very steep hill. However, once at the bottom the boats were easily accessible with just a short walk from the hotel on the flat. Certainly a country to be revisited.

Hired a car and toured the island to see two lovely towns nearby; Starigrad and Vrboska. Took another ferry to Korcula to stay 4 nights and highly recommend the Arabian suite in the Lesic Dimitri Palace. Pricey but a great experience for a special occasion. Korcula was equally beautiful and be sure to visit Lumbarda and its little sandy beach. Final ferry took us to Dubrovnik for our flight home. The Croatian people were wonderful; courteous, pleasant and very knowledgable and proud of their country's wonderful food and wine. Prestige holidays took great care of us and every connection, taxi, ferry worked seamlessly, with good reps in each hotel. Have already recommended this holiday to friends and family.
