Havana, and South/West Cuba, with group of 11 people and excellent tour guide

We toured the places of interest, particularly those commemorating the revolution and Bay of Pigs, and the heroes of the land. We also visited places of natural beauty, including the caves near Vinales, and sugar, coffee and tobacco fields and factories. On our last day our excellent tour guide managed to obtain theatre tickets for us to see the Cuban National Ballet's Swan Lake. This was the icing on the cake. Marvellous holiday!

Signature Patagonia: Highlights by TAK, 24 Apr 2016
Holiday Rating:

Chile for the discerning traveller.

Our visit was particular timed to coincide with the autumn colours in Patagonia, and we were not disappointed, even though autumn there was a little later than usual this year.

We have used JLA for all four of our visits to Chile, and have always found them to be a reliable and professional company. We appreciate the service they provide, and plan to continue using them for further visits to South America.

A South American adventure

A fast paced tour visiting Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia and Peru. Under the excellent guidance of Ettienne we travelled through thesefour countries taking time in Sucre and Le Paz to become acclimatised to the high altitude before our unforgettable visit to Machu Picchu. Our guide helped us with us with restaurants and local customs and was a mine of information on both the history and current politics of the areas we visited.

Superb insight into a very different culture.

Wonderful tour. Very well organised. Fantastic guide. Loved the variety of what we saw. Also, staying in two casas particulares we had chance to really meet local people. Enjoyed the vibrancy and colour of Cuba. We toured the western half of Cuba staying in Habana, Trinidad, Cienfuegos,Las Terrazas and Vinales. We also took a few days extension to Cayo Levisa. We finished with another night and some sightseeing time back in Habana. All the excursions were really good. We had a wonderful walk in the Escambray mountains with a local National Park guide leading. He was so knowledgeable. Similarly the guide who took us on a birdwatching walk at Las Terrazas. A really superb two weeks.

Journey Latin America are a brilliant company. Their staff are so helpful and friendly whenever you ring up with queries etc. In Cuba the guide (local) was excellent. She knew so much, had so many contacts and took us to so many places which added greatly to the overall experience. She knew wonderful places to eat as well as having contacts such as a tobacco farmer who let us see the drying sheds on his farm. The value added was fantastic and gave us a really good insight into the country.Everything was very well organised. For example: when we had a few days independently at the end the taxis met us at the right time etc. Our tour consisted of ten travellers plus the guide. This was a lovely number. Not too big a group, but big enough. This company not only met our expectations, but exceeded them.

Excitement and adventure in safe and experienced hands of JLA.

We recently travelled with JLA on a trip across six countries of Central America covering 3000kms in 24 days in 11 hotels using various forms of transport but with one superb and very experienced, professional and yet warm and fun tour leader - without whom we would never have made it past our first stop of Panama City!

From gauchos to geyers, from mountains to moai - South America has it all.

Starting with a night at the Rio Carnival and ending with sunrise over the statues of Easter Island, we experienced the variety and cultures of Brazil, Argentina and Chile. Drenched by the humidity of the Iguazu Falls, frozen at the geysers of the Atacama Desert and thrilled by climbing to the Three Towers of the Torres del Paine, we danced tangos in Buenos Aires, sipped pisco sours in Santiago, and stepped back in time in Chiloe Island.

Thorough and helpful, JLA know all there is to know about South America. Their tours have been planned to suit budgets and interests but, as each client has their own particular interests, JLA can provide tailor-made itineraries too.
