Wonderful 7 night holiday walking along the Amalfi coast

We went to the Amalfi coast in mid May and had good weather. The scenery is breathtaking and the wild flowers were lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed all the small hotels where we stayed. We easily navigated our way on the walks, some quite tiring, but manageable for anyone of average fitness. We easily navigated our way on the walks, some quite tiring, but manageable for anyone of average fitness. Amalfi is a great place to stay and we really enjoyed exploring the tiny alleyways and steps between the houses. The climb to Ravello is well rewarded by the beautiful views from the Cimbrone gardens and the traffic free streets and squares. The walk continues along the coast to Praiano and Positano and we then spent a day exploring the Sorrento peninsular - all just great.

Rating for tour operator:

On Foot Holidays are the best company I have used for booking a walking holiday. The walks were very well planned and the information, maps and directions we were sent were accurate and extremely useful with lots of extra detail and background information. I have never been sent such clear walking notes with each day in a separate plastic wallet. All the staff I spoke/e-mailed were very knowledgeable and helpful and responded very quickly to queries. The hotels chosen were ideal and there was also a local person contactable for help should you need it.

Slovenia - the best kept secret in Europe

We have just completed the Slovenian walk from Lake Cerknica to Trieste through the limestone karst area. It took us 8 days and we took advantage of the suggested extra side trips as well. (Postojna Caves, Predjama Castle, Lipica Horse Stud and Skocjan Caves). We were very fortunate with the weather, having mild sunny days most of the time. It was a wonderful holiday.

We have been dealing with On Foot Holidays for about a year now as we booked and planned our trip to Slovenia. They were so helpful even about advice not directly related to the trip (train travel in Europe for example). We cannot recommend them highly enough for their quick, honest responses and the care taken to ensure every detail of the trip was organised so there were no hiccups or stressful moments. Even to pre-booking taxis for the extra activities. We loved the cultural/ historical notes in our guidebook and the instructions, especially about when and how much to tip specific people, so that we could be politically correct and not embarrass ourselves in such gracious company. Their planning is meticulous and their interaction is personal and highly professional. We will definitely be using this company again.

'Rhine Gorge' - fantastic holiday

My girlfriend and I hiked for 6 days from Bingen to Koblenz along the Rhine in Germany. The team at OnFootHolidays planned an excellent route (Rhine Gorge), and provided us with incredibly detailed hiking instructions / advice. The accommodations were lovely, and luggage transfer service was both prompt and helpful. We enjoyed every aspect of the trip, and will be booking with OnFootHolidays again as soon as possible.

OnFootHolidays provided a fantastic service. All communication was prompt, accurate, and courteous. They provided us with a pack of information about the hiking route which was far more detailed and helpful than we anticipated. The route itself was incredibly well planned, with beautiful sights, interesting terrain, and lovely accommodations. To top everything off, the food recommendations were spot on.

Slovenia. Excellent.

First experience of organised self-guided walking holiday (we've arranged such holidays ourselves in the past). Everything was very good and would definitely do it again.

South West England

This was a seven day walking tour on Dorset, built of public footpaths and right of ways between Salisbury and Lyme Regis. Several small villages, a castle, a 14th c. church, a manor house garden, and of course the splendors of the Wessex Ridgeway and the Golden Cap were integrated into the walk.

Stunning Amalfi Coast Self-Guided Walk

I walked the beautiful Amalfi Coast in May with On Foot Holidays. The scenery was stunning. The walks were enjoyable, if a little strenuous at times, but there was always an easier option on offer. The accommodation was in general very good to excellent. I walked on my own, following the very detailed route notes provided, and never got lost. Walking is a great way to experience a country. It was a truly wonderful holiday.

Friendly, helpful staff who kept me informed about the upcoming walk and last minute route changes due to landslips. As this was a self-guided tour it was important that the information provided be comprehensive, detailed and helpful. It was, from providing information about all possible connections to get to the start of the tour, to detailed route notes, to restaurant recommendations close to the accommodation. This was my first tour with On Foot Holidays, and I would use them again. I would also recommend them to friends and family.

Excellent experience all round, we thoroughly enjoyed it. We booked a self guided walking holiday along the Amalfi Coast, plus added on three extra days, one in Sant' Agata, and two in Sorrento. Our walk took us to the villages and towns of Amalfi, Ravello, Praiano, Positano, Sant' Agata, Massa Lubrense, Sorrento, and a hike high into the Vallee delle Ferriere. We also visited Pompeii and the Isle of Capri.

On Foot Holidays really put the effort into ensuring that all aspects of the holiday were a pleasure, from the transfer details, hotels, self guided walking trip notes and maps, general information regarding your location, plus eating and drinking recommendations. We felt as though we had a permanent guide with us, although we were on our own! Their staff per a pleasure to deal with, their customer service was second to none. We're looking forward to travelling with them again.
