We travelled in June to Tuscany and had six days walking around Montalcino. It is a wonderful and beautiful area and the walks were exactly as described. The hotels were varied, which was lovely, and interesting; we decided to have one day not walking which was fine, and everything went really smoothly. I would love to holiday with them again.

We did the walk on the Amalfi Coast. We enjoyed the hotels selected and were thankful for the suggestions made for being prepared for the walks. We were a bit disappointed that rain prevented us from doing part of the walks. The walks we did were great and felt the directions and maps were detailed and complete. Overall we were impressed with the organization and thoroughness of On Foot. Staff was very responsive to questions and helpful. We met other groups on this trip that had booked with other programs and they were impressed with out detailed maps and walking directions. Not only would we recommend On Foot but we are looking at other walks we could do with On Foot

Walked the Lycian Way in Turkey, on my own, for one week.

Picked me up, moved my bags, dropped me off, all as planned. The accommodation was good - no problems at all.

A week's self-guided walking, along the Amalfi coast. Our luggage was transported, our accommodation booked, and walking notes and maps were provided.

This company specialises in self-guided walking breaks in Europe. Initial ideas and holiday information is available on their web-site, or via a brochure, and they are very friendly and helpful when you ring to discuss a possible booking. They have a flexible approach, and will work with you to tailor an itinerary to suit you, based on one of the standard itineraries. For example, they can optionally book flights and taxi transfers, and in most cases you can choose to start on any day of the week, and to add extra days at the beginning or end, or indeed in the middle of your trip if you wish. Where your walk takes you to places large enough to offer a number of accommodation options, you can choose one to suit.

A 6 day self-guided walking holiday. A range of accommodation from simple to more luxurious but all very pleasant and appropriate to the area. Walking notes were good with GPS data to help if there was any doubt about the route, which was rare.

This was the fourth self-guided walking holiday that we have had with On Foot. It comprised 6 days of mainly high ridge walking through the Apennines to the Ligurian sea. As always the places we stayed at were very varied but at all we were welcomed most warmly and looked after most carefully by a variety of very different and interesting hosts. Some of the days were long, but with consistently good paths and wonderful views the kilometers sped past. The careful design meant that there was a clear progression with no detours to add unnecessary distance, and no significant walking on roads. We became aware that the local representative was in touch with all our hosts to ensure that all our foibles were satisfied!

On Foot were initially introduced to us by a friend, and from the very beginning we became aware that we were receiving a very personal service. The On Foot office were always responsive to requests for information and advice with this, and our three previous, self-guided walking holiday. Once in country the local representatives kept in touch with us and our hosts throughout our stay. The maps and walking notes are carefully made (and as we know are carefully checked by On Foot staff in the field) and the hosts seem to be selected because of their enthusiasm for the area through which we walked and in some cases for their mild eccentricity.

We spent six days walking in the Dolomites, from Innichen near the Austrian border to Cortina. The scenery was superb and accommodation was top-class. All route notes were clear and easy to follow, we have done several walking holidays but this was the best one so far.

Our tour operator answered all emails promptly, the staff in the office were helpful and friendly and the information provided was excellent.

We stayed in Nice for a couple of nights and then travelled by train to the start of the walk. Each day for 6 days as we walked down the well-signed route we stayed in B&Bs that also provided packed lunch and dinner when the options were otherwise limited or non-existent. Bookings were made efficiently and all locations were very pleasant. Hosts were, for the most part, also very charming and helpful and were always pleasant. Luggage was transferred reliably. The whole experience was relaxing and we were able to focus on the walking without having to worry about other logistical issues.

On Foot Holidays offers a complete package self-guided walking holiday that works perfectly for us. The staff is without fail efficient, helpful and really pleasant to deal with. The hotels selected for the trips have been great and the information package absolutely complete. The service is very high quality and reliable.
