Very efficient and well organised

All the hotels were in beautiful locations set in forests and jungle with exotic flora and fauna and some wildlife. All the trips were well organised in groups of 6 people and the local guides were very knowledgeable and spoke English well

Pura Vida -Holiday of a lifetime

This was a holiday to celebrate my 60th birthday and it lived up to expectations. Luxurious accommodation whilst experiencing real Costa Rica. We focussed on just 3 locations so that we had time to get the most out of each one. The whole trip was so perfect that we are unable to single out anything for special praise or for criticism.

Rating for tour operator:

Our operator took a very vague specification and delivered us just what we dreamt of. From the moment we left the UK to the moment we returned we felt looked after and special. This time we gave the spec spec to 3 different operators and went with the one who seemed to understand us best. Next time we go to this part of the world they will be the only operator that we contact.

Journey Latin America Cuba

Cuba is an incredible country but we thought 2 weeks probably too long, Havana very interesting as is Trinidad but unless you have specific interests you could probably limit your time to these 2 places and do it in a week.

Rating for tour operator:

Very Disappointing. We booked a self-drive through Journey Latin America and had requested luxury accommodation as far as possible, whilst recognizing this is not always possible in Cuba. We felt it was all a bit 'package tour' and not a great deal of flexibility at the booking stage, just being told to do it their way. Their guidebooks were out of date while Cuba is actually changing so update info on restaurants etc would be welcome. Not sure you really need to use a company like this as I don't think they are really up to date and all they seem to do is use a local agent to book everything up whilst charging a great deal of money in the process. They say they are booking the best accommodation in every place but we checked and this was patently not the case. We personally will not be using them again as very disappointing.

Journey Latin America / Journeyscape responded to this review on 25 Jan 2019:

It is disappointing to read your comments. Cuba does have its distinct challenges and unfortunately there is no luxury accommodation in some of the more off-the-beaten track locations on your itinerary. Homestays by their very nature tend to be quite basic but we will look at how we can be clearer on this. We will also take on board your comments about the self-drive itinerary as we always try to create the most suitable itineraries taking into account the rules of the road and vagaries of driving in Cuba. We are sorry you were unhappy with some of the accommodation choices.

We realise Cuba is rapidly changing and some of the information in the UK published footprint guidebooks can quickly become out of date. However, the recommendations in our Travel App are regularly added to and updated. Our local representatives also provide a briefing on arrival which always includes handouts of gastronomic recommendations and cultural events in each destination. We are gradually phasing out the guidebooks for Cuba.

An amazing holiday to see one of the natural wonders of the world

I travelled to Rio for 2 nights, Iguazu for 4 nights and Buenos Aires for 2 nights. I had a lifelong ambition to see the Iguazu Falls and wanted to also get a taste of these 2 major cities. Iguazu was an amazing experience and was made even better by staying at the marvellous Belmond das Cataratas hotel. The level of customer service was amazing and you had early access to the falls as a bonus.

Journey Latin America listened to my requirements and put together an excellent itinerary. They were helpful with pre holiday queries and their representatives in Brazil and Argentina were great. I booked and travelled within a month but felt very prepared with all the information they gave me. I would definitely book another private tour holiday with them

To the ends of the earth

A great snapshot of an incredible region, from the vibrant cities of Santiago and Valparaiso to the wild regions of Patagonia where guanacos graze and condors fly. The amazingly vibrant blue of the glaciers, the snow capped mountains, the huge winds! Finally Buenos Aires, another vibrant city. We had great opportunities to see wildlife and fantastic scenery. A well organised and varied trip with a great guide. Truely memorable.
