Komodo to Bali
Despite last minute rescheduling because of volcanoes on Flores Naturetrek delivered again a fantastic snorkelling holiday. The corals surrounding the Indonesian island we were able to were stunning, teaming with wildlife and we were privileged to swim with Reef Manta Rays, Whale Sharks, Hawksbill and Green Turtles - what's not to like?

Been travelling with with Naturetrek since 1988 and had 25+ excellent wildlife focussed holidays with them. Some holidays have include local culture - Cambodia, Sri Lanka for example, others more committed to the extensive wildlife in the Antarctic, Falkland Islands and South Georgia - birds, cetaceans, penguins and mammals always accompanied by excellent and very knowledgeable wildlife experts.

Excellent rainforest experience
This was a superbly designed trip with excellent guides. I was to see some very rare birds, such as the Harpy Eagle, Ornate Hawk eagle and King vulture at close range in the rainforest. Channel billed and white throated toucan were also frequently seen as were white faced saki, squirrel, spider, brown and weeping capuchin and howler monkeys. This was a trip designed by Naturetrek and myself. Naturetrek responded well to meeting my wishes and the collaboration avoided either missing out Kabalebo, or joining their standard programme. Because George of Naturetrek had been there, he knew that the standard programme at Kabalebo was unsuitable for a serious nature photographer. I was very keen to visit as I knew it was an outstanding area of rainforest. With his help, we manged to book a private guide for the bulk of my time in Kabalebo and this led to some truly exceptional wildlife sightings and great photographic opportunities. The ground agents, Unlock Nature, could not have been more helpful and their guides were not also excellent spotters, but had boundless enthusiasm.

Naturetrek Birds of Northern Peru
This tour captured so much of Northern Peru in wildlife, habitat, people and culture.

This was the first trip with Naturetrek and everything was very well run. The guide had excellent knowledge of Peru in all areas, having lived there for many years.

Panama birds and wildlife at its best
An excellent 2 centre tour in the forests of Panama. The Canopy Tower, a former US communications structure, was magical especially seeing dawn come up from the top with a 360 degree view and hearing the forest below come alive with birds and howler monkeys. The Canopy Lodge was a very different experience set in an extinct caldera with more bird species and equally as interesting. There were so many highlights, we even visited the famous Canal...

A Wildlife Extravaganza in Kenya
Our week-long trip to Kenya began with a stop at Lake Naivasha, about a 3-hour drive from Nairobi. From hippos to eagles, gazelle to pelicans, the area was brimming with wildlife, which made for a very interesting couple of days! Our 2nd stop in Kenya was Masai Mara National Park, one of Africa’s premier wildlife destinations. We came for the birds (and saw over 200 species), but came up big on critters on four legs as well. We managed to see four of the Big Five (the five most dangerous animals - lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos) and so many other fascinating animals. Observing an extended lion family feeding on an Eland they had taken down was absolutely unforgettable. Waking up to the beautiful calls of Fish Eagles at Elsamere was a special memory, and listening to the range of hyena calls at night at Base Camp Masai Mara was truly amazing. All in all, an absolutely unforgettable adventure!

NatureTrek is our go-to provider for wildlife-packed trips. Having traveled widely on every continent save Antarctica, I have yet to find a firm that accommodates the needs of bird watchers so well.

A truly wonderful experience
The accommodation at our lodge was excellent, the staff were helpful and friendly and the food was plenty and excellent. Two safaris a day meant that we saw a huge amount of wildlife and our guide, Davies, was super helpful and knowledgeable.
