Panama birds and wildlife at its best
An excellent 2 centre tour in the forests of Panama. The Canopy Tower, a former US communications structure, was magical especially seeing dawn come up from the top with a 360 degree view and hearing the forest below come alive with birds and howler monkeys. The Canopy Lodge was a very different experience set in an extinct caldera with more bird species and equally as interesting. There were so many highlights, we even visited the famous Canal...

A Wildlife Extravaganza in Kenya
Our week-long trip to Kenya began with a stop at Lake Naivasha, about a 3-hour drive from Nairobi. From hippos to eagles, gazelle to pelicans, the area was brimming with wildlife, which made for a very interesting couple of days! Our 2nd stop in Kenya was Masai Mara National Park, one of Africa’s premier wildlife destinations. We came for the birds (and saw over 200 species), but came up big on critters on four legs as well. We managed to see four of the Big Five (the five most dangerous animals - lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos) and so many other fascinating animals. Observing an extended lion family feeding on an Eland they had taken down was absolutely unforgettable. Waking up to the beautiful calls of Fish Eagles at Elsamere was a special memory, and listening to the range of hyena calls at night at Base Camp Masai Mara was truly amazing. All in all, an absolutely unforgettable adventure!
Rating for tour operator:NatureTrek is our go-to provider for wildlife-packed trips. Having traveled widely on every continent save Antarctica, I have yet to find a firm that accommodates the needs of bird watchers so well.

Brilliant birds (and good weather) in Dumfries and galloway
Excellent accommodation and tour leader and the weather was very mild for November leading to us seeing a record number of bird species in a variety of interesting locations.

Rating for tour operator:I would happily recommend both Naturetrek and their local agents Chameleon Tours to anyone.
A truly wonderful experience
The accommodation at our lodge was excellent, the staff were helpful and friendly and the food was plenty and excellent. Two safaris a day meant that we saw a huge amount of wildlife and our guide, Davies, was super helpful and knowledgeable.

Amazing Wildlife Experience in Madagascar
This wildlife experience was amazing with sightings of many endemic species of mammals, birds, reptiles and insects. The diversity of interests and knowledge in the group was amazing and certainly added to the enjoyment of the trip. The guides were excellent and went out of their way to ensure we experienced all Madagascar had to offer.

Wonderful wildlife and brilliant tutor
A week spent in the Maasai Mara with photographer John Haskew taught us so much about how to photograph animals, and edit our photos - as well as some amazing viewings, including lions, leopards and cheetahs with cubs. . John was an excellent host and tutor, patient, encouraging and of course extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife in the area. It was such a treat to spend significant amounts of time with animals, watching their behaviour rather than the more usual safari experience of being constantly on the move, looking for something new/different.
Rating for tour operator:Our first holiday with Naturetrek. A very efficient set-up and we felt well supported with information and advice before we travelled. On the trip almost everything went like clockwork, and any (very) minor issues were quickly resolved. In terms of cost I would say that we paid a bit more than we have done in the past, but the experience was worth every penny. We would certainly consider travelling with nature trek in the future
