Brilliant sea kayaking and walking in the stunningly beautiful Torridon area on the west coast

As a novice I got expert guidance and learned basic sea kayaking skills to the point I now feel happy on the water. The weather was not always helpful, but the guides were real wizards in getting us in the right place to minimise impact and maximise our experience, be it sea kayaking or walking. A trip into the magic and mystery of Shetland.

The holiday consisted of walking, island hopping and visiting archaeological sites in a group of seven unknown companions and a guide. The fellowship promoted by the guide and by the spirit of the islands and the islanders lifted this holiday into the realms of perfection. Together we learned to know and love an unknown land and tasted the magic and mystery of this Ultima Thule. Inspirational.

The tour operator/guide listened to all individual view points and accommodated these to appeal to the needs of all. Consultations were open and frank and ensured that the holiday worked for all of us. He also added a most affecting dimension to the walks in that he occasionally read an appropriate poem during breaks.

Walking and Sailing in the Inner Hebrides

The trip itself was well thought out and used local experienced guides to bring to life the local environment. I was new to sailing but the crew took their time to explain to the novices what was needed and showed us how to do it. We soon became accustomed to sweating and tailing the ropes! The walks on the different islands were all varied terrain and it gave us a chance to absorb the local fauna and flora up close. Overall it was an excellent ...

From start to finish, travelling with Wilderness Scotland was a dream. Pre-trip details were handled with excellent customer centric service and during the trip everything ran perfectly. All slight changes to the itinerary (no wind to sail) were communicated clearly in advance with the team, and alternatives were provided. This is my 2nd trip with Wilderness Scotland and I can't praise their customer centric focus and the quality of the trips they provide. They know exactly what to do and are true professionals! I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants to get off the beaten track and explore the Highlands from different points of view i.e. sailing, walking, kayaking, cycling.

Mountain Biking across Scotland

Great trip with a great company. We mountain biked across Scotland and had just a fantastic time passing through the countryside and small towns.

Excellent cycling in the Outer hebrides

We had a weeks cycling in the Outer Hebrides. It was superbly organised with 2 excellent guides. the bikes were very good and help was always on hand if any queries arose. The transport, food and accomodation were all excellent. No negatives at all. Our trip was enhanced further by beautiful weather and not a single drop of rain.

I have had many self guided and also guided activity holidays and would rate this trip with Wilderness Scotland as one of the best. There was excellent organisation throughout the trip, the equipment was very good, the guides listened to any wishes we might have to take a detour/stay a bit longer at any one place- they were really superb. My dealings with the tour operator were easy and they were responsive to any queries that I had before the trip.

I had a unique and wonderful hiking trip into the Knoydart Peninsula with Wilderness Scotland. The hikes were well guided - our guide was thoughtful and very thorough and had a real love of nature. The lodge was welcoming and accommodating - an off the grid experience with amazing food and wonderful care for their customers. A great experience overall.

wilderness walking from an AWESOME base location

A brilliantly conceived and executed holiday - real wilderness, accessed by private boat, from a comfortable base location. It's hard to describe the dining experience: better than homely, nicer than rustic, definitely wholesome, local, fresh, very generous. Would love to go back sometime - and that's rare for me.
