Get away from the crowds in Scotland.

This was a trip of a lifetime! We took a 7 day trip hiking (8-10 miles/day) through the Cairngorms National Park & Royal Deeside. The scenery was spectacular! Our accommodations in small tows were very comfortable. All our meals were well prepared and absolutely delicious! Accommodations for food sensitivities were made. Our guide was knowledgeable about our hiking locations. We feel like we had an intimate trip to Scotland, close to nature ...

The small tour size of 8 people certainly is certainly a positive.

Rating for tour operator:

This is a second trip with this tour operator--one time in Ireland & one time in Scotland. Day by day itineraries were provided with details of exactly what our days would be. All of our pre-trip questions were answered promptly via email. There are a wide range of trips for all outdoor adventures, something to suit everyone's abilities.

Wilderness Scotland set up all of our accommodations and arranged for our baggage transfers - everything went off without a hitch. We had an amazing trip.

Rating for tour operator:

We actually did not have a tour operator, we were on our own doing a self- guided tour. However, Bridget Brown, the WS consultant that we dealt with was amazing: she was knowledgeable, helpful and very patient with us in putting together a wonderful holiday.

Sea Kayaking - The Scottish Highlands

This was my first real kayaking experience - and I loved it. The scenery was dramatic and breathtaking, the activity challenging, the hospitality excellent. During this holiday, I was able to enjoy being in the moment and was never distracted by thoughts of 'life'!

Rating for tour operator:

I was very impressed with the tour operator, Wilderness Scotland. All arrangements, both before and during the trip, were handled very smoothly and efficiently. The equipment - kayaks, paddles, life savers etc - was in good condition and provided all we needed. Our guide was excellent - helpful, patient, flexible, knowledgeable and experienced. The accommodation and food arrangements were also good, enabling us to return from a day's activity and just relax.

A great adventure: well planned and well executed

Sea-kayaking based on the Ross of Mull The guide who led the trip was excellent. I had complete confidence in his decision-making. Even when the weather conditions were challenging, he used his extensive knowledge and experience to ensure we were safe when afloat. The accommodation was delightful, warm too, and the cook provided us with generous and delicious meals.

Rating for tour operator:

The kayaking kit provided by Wilderness Scotland is excellent. It is very well organised so the guide arrives with everything that is required for the trip even down to the stainless steel mugs, cafetieres and the company's own blend of coffee.

Eye-openingly beautiful landscapes, a great tour group and an highlt experienced and flexible guide who was passionate (but not intrusive!) about sharing his knowledge about walking, the places and their history.
