Family skiing holiday

Lapland is not a place for expert skiers looking for a challenging experience, but for families with young children, or if you want a snowy holiday in a land where the scenery is stunning and the people are polite, friendly, welcoming and give the best customer service I have ever experienced (including in the USA) the Finland is the place to go.

Fantastic holiday - amazing scenery & unique experiences.

Lapland was an impulsive choice when looking for somewhere else to ski in Europe. I did downhill and cross country skiing, snow shoeing and also the Husky dog sled ride and the reindeer sleigh ride. Lapland was an impulsive choice when looking for somewhere else to ski in Europe. I did downhill and cross country skiing, snow shoeing and also the Husky dog sled ride and the reindeer sleigh ride. Ski Lapland also organised a couple of night time trips for me - one was a photographic session to learn how to photograph the night sky. The other was a snow shoe ramble again hopefully to spot the Northern Lights away from the influence of the village lights. The downhill slopes are wide and beautifully groomed. There was some nice runs between the trees and lots of runs above the tree lines. At Levi in particular, there are some spectacular runs amongst frozen, snow covered trees that provide a magnificent and unique landscape - the trip was worth it just for that. The x-country trails were plentiful, well marked and very pleasant. There was no shortage of opportunities to get out and ski. The husky dog sled ride and reindeer sleigh rides were very well organised and I did take the opportunity to ride my own sled / sleigh. The only disappointment was that it was difficult to get photos of myself driving the sled / sleigh because of the way the passenger sits in the vehicle. The other disappointment for me, was that the route was on a clearly prepared trail. I would have loved to do some genuine fresh tracks touring, but I understand that is not really possible with a tourist set up like this. The people were very friendly, the safety aspects followed and clearly demonstrated and the chance to chat with the operators to talk about the local culture was excellent. Also plenty of opportunity to feed and pet the animals both reindeer and huskies.

I was very happy with the holiday and the organisation from Ski Lapland. I thought you all did a fantastic job in organising everything and including everything I had asked for. The standard of accommodation and all the trips were of a very high standard. I also thought your welcome and introduction provided an excellent start to the holiday and I appreciated the extra time Matt gave me the following day to show me around the ski slopes and the village, to make sure that as someone on my own, I felt welcomed and also knew my way around. I have got some lovely photos, souvenirs and memories from the trip. I am thinking about returning one year in late Summer or Autumn as I would love to see the countryside enveloped in the colour of the changing seasons. But that will have to be a few years off I feel, as I have other places on my agenda for this year. I am certainly happy to recommend your company to any of my friends that express an interest in going to Lapland.

Ski holiday in Norway - Park Inn Hotel, Trysil

We had an amazing time in Norway and the snow was fantastic. We loved the Park Inn resort as it was relaxed and comfortable and there were options for everybody. The spa was a great addition to the holiday. We had great ski instruction from the ski school and the scenery was beautiful. A good range of slopes as well.

Great location for those who like straightforward unpretentious skiing

Trysil is a resort which has something for all levels of skier. Well groomed slopes, although the signage of different routes and pistes was very poor in places. The Park Inn resort provides fantastic accommodation and facilities but beware of taking the self-catering option as there is no supermarket on site or within walking distance, and the ski-bus runs very infrequently. The Park Inn resort provides fantastic accommodation and facilities but beware of taking the self-catering option as there is no supermarket on site or within walking distance, and the ski-bus runs very infrequently. Everyone we met made us feel very welcome and we felt surrounded by people who just wanted to ski and have a fun holiday. Probably not the best place if you are hoping for brilliant apres ski.

Very helpful and friendly service provided during the booking process and before the holiday. Brilliant in-house tuition programme with small group sizes and loads of fun for the kids.
