Kenyan Safari Holiday

Travelling from Nairobi by air and jeep we spent four nights in each of three camps: Tortillis (Amboseli), Kicheche (Laikipia) and Kicheche Bush Camp (Mara). Each offered excellent game viewing, though with differences, with knowledgeable guides. Food was consistently excellent, the service fantastic, and the welcome warm.

This was our first safari experience. Safari Consultants took our few, simple requirements and built from them a full, well organised and well thought-out itinerary. They were extremely helpful, supportive (and patient) at every stage, such that we had complete confidence that the holiday would be a success, as it was.

An amazing self drive safari holiday to Namibia

We went on a self drive safari to Namibia and were bowled over by the wildlife we saw and the places we visited and stayed. There was not one single aspect of the holiday we were disappointed with.

We went on a self drive safari arranged by Safari Consultants. The destinations and accommodation they suggested fully met with our needs and provided us with everything we could have hoped for in a self drive safari holiday. They really listened to what we liked to do and see and what type of accommodation we wanted.

Nice rooms, a beautiful restaurant with great food. Helicopter flight over falls was spectacular and a must do. Elephant Safari was a special experience and a picturesque sunset cruise on the Zambezi River was well worth it. The highlight of the trip was our 3 days at Camp Hwange in Hwange National Park.. The staff, accommodation and food were faultless. Our guide Quinn was excellent . The drives combined with the friendliness of staff and other guests back at camp made our holiday truly memorable.

We used Safari Consultants two years ago for a trip to Kenya and were very impressed with their knowledge and professionalism. Our trip went like clockwork so when I decided to go back to Africa with one of my daughters I had no hesitation in contacting Rob Slater. Once again he was able to put together an itinerary that met both our interests and our budget. His advise and suggestions come from a great knowledge and personal experience of Africa. My queries were always responded to quickly and the trip was organised within a week. I would have no hesitation in recommending Safari Consultants if you are looking for a truly wonderful African experience. I

Our First Safari

We had a two centre trip to Kenya. 3 nights in Lewa followed by 4 nights in the Masai Mara. Our first stop was in a chalet, the second in a tented camp. We saw everything we could have hoped to see and enjoyed excellent facilities, service and food throughout.

The trip was fully arranged by Safari Consultants from the first phone call asking for help in planning a safari. They guided us through the alternatives, answering questions promptly (despite an 8 hour time difference). Organization was excellent throughout - absolutely no problem at all with any of the arrangements

Perfect African Safari Itinerary

Mary Grimwood at Safari Consultants (with the help of Fran) planned our perfect honeymoon safari trip to Botswana. Her camp and travel recommendations were right-on. At this time of year the skies are blue and the weather settled. Botswana has such variety of terrain and animals that it really has to be one of the bop destinations in Africa and oh by the way did I mention that the warmth if welcome and the effort made to give everyone a wonderful time from everyone , well I have now!

It is the in depth knowledge from knowing the locations and their offering matched to clients aspirations that sets Safari Consultants apart from the competition that makes the difference. This was our third trip organised by them and no detail was too small and the planning was efficient and personalised.

Rattrays Mala Mala - Out of this world luxury safari.

This is my first safari, and I spent hours asking questions and planning the trip. I had concerns about flights (not keen on little planes) and accommodation standards etc. I should not have worried. We flew BA business class to Jo'berg, then SA link to Skukuza, and had 4 nights at Rattrays before coming home. A short trip but the most memorable of my life. The game viewing was incredible, we saw the Big 5, but also cheetah and wild dog. We parked very close to group of 4 lions and spent about an hour with them as the sun went down, the most incredible experience - very peaceful. The accommodation was beautiful, very clean, and decadent! Nothing like being in a private plunge pool and watching elephants in the river below. We tried to extend our stay, it was so amazing, but unsurprisingly there were no spaces. I feel incredibly privileged to see this, but greedy enough to want to return asap!

Rating for tour operator:

Unbelievable! Incredibly patient, helpful, and knowledgeable. This holiday was perfect thanks to them. They helped find the perfect property to stay in, with incomparable game viewing. If I had stayed elsewhere (based on website information) out holiday would not have been as good. Possibly the accommodation would have been similar, but the game viewing not as good. Their specialist knowledge is priceless. They were as helpful pre and post booking, and were quick to respond, often out of traditional business hours. I would use them again without hesitation, and would recommend to anyone thinking of booking direct, don't, it would be a false economy - for a holiday of a lifetime you need advice from the best, and without doubt this company must be the market leader by some margin for service. While I was researching, I did ask for a couple of other quotes from companies, they did not come close to the level of service, and yet the prices were comparable - so the best is not always at a price premium.
