Epic Safari to Zambia
We wanted a remote (and a little luxurious) adventure safari for the family (two teenagers) with lots of game viewing opportunities and epic landscapes. Zambia proved to be a wonderful destination. The camps were remote and exciting but accompanied with phenomonal food and service. The game viewing was outstanding and the guides were experienced, fun and insightful. The camps were remote and exciting but accompanied with phenomonal food and service. The game viewing was outstanding and the guides were experienced, fun and insightful. We saw all of the Big 5 in abundance and even elephants and hippo in camp. The children were blown away with the proximity to the animals both on land, by jeep and kayak. One of the many highlights was watching a leopard cub learn to hunt with his mother. A truly unforgettable experience.
Rating for tour operator:Safari Consultants listened carefully to our thoughts and then built a bespoke experience that was just incredible. The team were responsive, thoughtful and clearly very knowledgable about the region. The camps that they picked for us and the balance of the itinerary were perfect. We couldn't have asked for more.
Dear Andrew, many thanks for your review and I am pleased that Zambia really lived up to expectations! We know that Zambia really offers that incredible, varied, wild and exclusive safari experience, but it sounds like your game-viewing was amazing! I am glad the camps worked well for you too. It was a pleasure arranging this family adventure for you and we hope to help you out again in the future. Thanks again and best wishes, Rob
Incredible experience at Tuningi with Safari Consultants
We spent 4 nights at Tuningi Lodge in Madikwe. The lodge was 5 star - beautiful decor and welcoming and helpful staff from the moment we arrived. Our guide Andrew was extremely knowledgeable and each drive was an amazing experience - we were lucky to see the big 5 in this short time. A perfect holiday that leaves us with lasting memories.

Rating for tour operator:Safari Consultants made the whole experience seamless. They listened to our brief and selected what was the ideal location and lodge for us, and matched it so well that we could not find a single fault with the service and experience. It was very useful to have such detailed information supplied via an app such as Itinerary, What to Take & General Tips and general info about South Africa as it meant we had great advice and guidance available at all times.
All wonderful, well organized, beautiful and very special in every way.
We did a total of 6 nights on safari in Kenya which was divided between two locations, Ol Pejeta Conservancy and the Mara North in the Masai Mara. We stayed in a cottage for 3 nights and a luxury tented lodge for a further 3 nights. We did private game drives each morning and evening with very knowledgeable and professional guides. We stayed in a cottage for 3 nights and a luxury tented lodge for a further 3 nights. We did private game drives each morning and evening with very knowledgeable and professional guides. We felt very spoilt as we were treated like royalty and could want for nothing. The quality of the meals, accommodation and service was outstanding. The game viewing was excellent and we felt very privileged to see a range of animals that we did in their natural environment. We also had opportunities to see and learn about the local culture. It was an outstanding trip and an unforgettable memory.
Rating for tour operator:The organization of our trip was excellent from out very first phone call to our flight home and I felt there was great attention to detail. Francis looked after us so extremely well and was very patient with my many questions. I cannot fault your service and have recommended your company to many people. Thank you for helping us achieve the memorable trip that I wanted.
Dear Dawn, thanks so much for your review. It's much appreciated and I am so glad you had such a memorable experience. It was a pleasure helping you organise the trip! Best wishes, Frances
A month in southern African safari camps
We spent a moth visiting a dozen locations in Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia and South Africa. The trip covered everything from Victoria Falls, safari camps along the Zambezi; a photo safari on a houseboat on the Chobe River in the Caprezi Strip; more safari camps around the Okovango Delta and the deserts of Namibia; visiting Cape Town and whale watching in Hermanus (east of Cape Town). Safari Consultants arranged the lodging and complex connections even as the trip was postponed twice due to the pandemic.
Rating for tour operator:Rob, from Safari Consultants is amazing. This is the second long African trip he has arranged for us. We decided roughly what animals and ecosystems we wanted to see and where we would like to go. He worked with us to arrange the specific places to stay and he took care of all of the myriad connections to get from one place to another. This was not just getting a driver from one place to another. One day, we needed a boat to get off an island to a land rover which took us to a helicopter which took us to an elephant or[hanage and then to an airship which flew us to Windhoek, Namibia and then got a driver to take us to our lodging. We never had a single problem with any connections or places we stayed.
Dear John, many thanks for your review and kind comments. Your trip was certainly a huge adventure (and yes, lots of connections!) covering several countries and I am thrilled it all went so well and that you had such good experiences throughout, especially after such a long wait! Best wishes, Rob

The other agents wanted us to go their set itineraries and were not able to be flexible.Safari Consultants advised us all along the way but were also able to alter plans to fit our itinerary. We did a ten day drive through Namibia and then flew on to Botswana for a four night stay. The whole trip went like clockwork and every arrangement was perfect. All the advice about restaurants and suggested tours was perfect.
Rating for tour operator:Frances Woolgar was amazing. From the first time we contacted her, nothing was too much trouble. I had a couple of anxious travellers in my group and she was always positive and able to answer their questions no matter how trivial. She always came back to me within 24 hours (usually quicker). Once we got going, I was thrilled to see that every stop, every transfer and every recommendation was exactly as we had discussed and planned. There were no hitches anywhere!
Hi Judy, thanks so much for your feedback. It was a complete pleasure helping you put the trip together for your group and what an amazing trip it was! So pleased it all went well. Best wishes, Frances
Fabulous safari in Zambia

Kutali Lodge. Gave a true feeling of living in the bush. Accommodation clean and comfortable and food very good, Staff extremely attentive and pleasant. Flexibility was provided to suit specific wishes. Location on river bank gave a fabulous backdrop. Getting close and personal to docile Ellies browsing next to our tent, made for good photography and an interesting talking point. Although we have enjoyed past stays at Chiawa and Old Mondero, this lodge was more felt more “homely” and would be our preference. Particularly liked the bucket shower arrangement where showers were booked in advance with either cold, warm or hot water preferences. A fellow guest made a succinct comment “I came to Africa to see wildlife, and I am not interested in gold plated taps” All guides were very good, but were changed from day to day, and as such there was little continuity. Communal eating for all meals was welcomed as an opportunity to talk through the days experiences. Chula Lodge. Comments as per Kutali. Only slight downside, was no immediate view over Zambezi. Managed to catch a tiger fish on one afternoon activity. Kafunta Lodge. A superb lodge in every respect. Although located some distance from the river, the range of wildlife visiting the flood plain was exceptional. Witnessing the lion kill within 20 metres of the lodge as we returned one evening was a first for us, and although somewhat gruesome it was nature in the raw. It is one of the highlights from all of our many trips to Africa. Ellies came into camp, a herd of giraffes also came by, as well as a variety of birds. Here we had one guide - Solomon - allocated to ourselves for the whole week. Most guides are good, but Solomon was top of the league, in that he was able to locate several leopards and lion, and be on the scene way before any other guides appeared. Accommodation and food was of a very high standard. We rarely take a dip in lodge pools because water quality is iffy, but here the water was warm and crystal clear pumped from a borehole. Another first for us was to follow a pack of wild dogs in hunting mode, however they disappeared into the bush before we could see the result of the efforts.
Rating for tour operator:We have used Safari Consultants to recommend safari experiences on many previous occasions, because of their professional approach an wide knowledge on many locations in Africa.
Dear Alan and Norma, many thanks for your feedback on the different camps and we are obviously thrilled to hear you had such a good time. The game-viewing sounds amazing and many thanks for sending through some of your 'pics'. We do especially love Kutali's location, one of the best spots in all of Africa! Many thanks again. Best wishes, Rob.
Outstanding first safari
We stayed at kicheche lake laikipia for 3 nights then onto kicheche Mara north for 3 nights, we booked a day in the main national reserve but didn’t manage to see the wildebeest migration as they were put off by the crocodile on the other bank, but the activity was amazing to watch. The game drives in the conservancies were amazing with excellent guides at both camps. The hosts/ accommodation/ staff/ facilities/ food at both camps first class! ...

Rating for tour operator:Our safari to Kenya was put together by joe and was perfect! As first time to safari we had a few ideas of what we wanted but were guided superbly by joe giving us so much information about the area, viewings, reserves etc, and making recommendations to get the best out our holiday and was helpful with each change of plan and idea. The whole holiday was expertly planned, every flight/ transfer were smooth, the accommodation at kicheche lake laikipia and Mara north were amazing, would definitely recommend Safari consultants to anyone planning a safari!
Dear Tracy and David,
Thank you for your lovely review and it was great to hear further detail on your email. Kicheche are a wonderful company and their camps are superb - wonderful that they looked after you so well and it sounds like Kenya will leave a lasting impression on you.
Best wishes,
Joe

Botswana Teen Family Adventure
A thrilling introduction to Safaris for all the family, filled with activities and wow experiences. A fantastic way to spend family time with teens, with all members of the family captivated by the surroundings and the enthusiastic hospitality of everyone we met. A luxury holiday in every respect. The Makgadikgadi Pans and Okavango Delta were suitably buzzing with wildlife but very few other adventurers!
