Magical safari in Kenya

10-day trip with Safari Consultants arriving in Nairobi and spending one night at the Tamarind Tree Hotel, spending three nights at Lewa House in Lewa Downs Conservancy and four nights in Mara North in Kicheche Mara Camp. Everything was an exquisite experience: client focused service, punctuality, the lodges and their hosts who make you feel part of the family, amazingly delicious food and the high quality of the guides on safari. We were travelling with 2 grandchildren who loved every minute of their experience and so did we.

Rating for tour operator:

This is our 7th or 8th trip with Safari Consultants. We appreciate their attention to detail, the carefully selected camps which have hugely knowledgeable and experienced guides, fantastic service, wonderful food and are at the heart of African wildlife. We can't commend them more highly.

A most amazing safari experience.

An amazing week on Safari divided between Ol Pejeta Conservancy, and Mara North Conservancy, followed by a week relaxing in Zanzibar at the Next Paradise Boutique resort. The safari was outstanding and will leave us all with memories that will stay with us forever.

Joe from Safari Consultants spent a long time initially finding out what we were looking/hoping for from our Safari. He is clearly very knowledgable, and put together an itinerary that was everything we could have hoped for. The company were always available to help us with any questions/concerns we had in the run up to the holiday, and their service was second to none.

Life-changing trip to Africa

Our first safari, we (me and my 2 14 yr old boys) were recommended a trip to Kenya. We stayed at the Lewa Wilderness and the Kicheche Mara. Both fantastic accommodation - Lewa in a thatched lodge and Kicheche in very luxurious tented accommodation. The wildlife at both conservancies was mind-blowing. The travel arrangements were seamless, the people wonderful, excellent food, extremely knowledgeable guides. The best holiday ever.

When Air Namibia cancelled our flight from Windhoek to Victoria Falls, which meant we missed our connecting flight to Mana pools, so had to fly via Johannesburg to Vic. Falls, the next day,. Safari Consultants pulled out all the stops, reorganised our hotel booking, for that night, and put 4 of us on a special charter flight early next day so we only missed about 17 hours at Vundu Camp, who laid on a special visit for us , thanks to the advice they had received from Safari Consultants. The whole trip was highly organised, well chosen and ideal for what we wanted. As we have been many times with them this is the first hiccup we have ever had, and they responded magnificently. We saw the big 4 [not Rhino], Wild Dog , Nyala, Black Faced Impala among many other species

Safari in Botswana

An excellent holiday in two camps- Kanana in the delta and Selinda Explorers in Selinda Reserve. Both camps were excellent and great staff. The food at Selinda was particularly good and was as good as a 5 star restaurant. Game viewing in both was excellent with frequent viewings of Leopards, Lions, Elephants , Hippos and many others, Birds were wonderful. Even saw a Honey badger in daylight. The delta was very dry and had experienced bush fires which were still alight so it was dustier than expected. The absence of water was initially a disappointment as we were not able to do as much on the water as intended but this was soon dispelled as it made it easier getting around and seeing wildlife.

All data was well document and very clear. All the flights worked out very well with good contacts with local reps for internal flights. Overall an excellently arrange safari that my wife and I very much enjoyed and will be doing another with the same operator.

Safari & Cape Town

A wonderful four night safari at Tanda Tula in the Timbavati. This was a magical experience of dawn and dusk game drives with a hugely informative ranger and amazing tracker. At most we were 6 to a vehicle and the game sighting opportunities were fabulous. Multiple sightings each drive of lions and leopards, a couple of rhino sightings a solitary buffalo and the majestic sight of a parade of elephants, some 70-80 strong walking either side ...

At most we were 6 to a vehicle and the game sighting opportunities were fabulous. Multiple sightings each drive of lions and leopards, a couple of rhino sightings a solitary buffalo and the majestic sight of a parade of elephants, some 70-80 strong walking either side of our Land Rover. Throw in a relaxed atmosphere at the immaculate camp in a beautiful "tent" supported by charming staff and superb food and drinks and you have the recipe for a wonderful experience. We capped off our trip with a short stay in Cape Town including trips to Robben Island and up Table Mountain. Can't wait to do it all again!

Rating for tour operator:

Organised every detail of our trip whilst in South Africa - we booked our own international travel as we were travelling out via Dubai to see friends and back by ship to celebrate our wedding anniversary. But the arrangements for South Africa were superb. The safari was superb, the internal flights worked perfectly, the hotel in Cape Town was great choice and they even arranged separate shipment of one bag from Jo'burg Airport to meet us in the hotel in Cape Town so that we could travel light(er) on safari. Hugely helpful throughout, putting various options on the table, but then made sure that every single detail was executed flawlessly.

Family first trip to South Africa with kids 14, 13 and 11

Cape Town 4 nights, Swellendam 1 night, Oudtshoorn 2 nights, Plet 4 night and 3 nights safari. A fabulous mix of scenery and things to do. We particularly loved De Zeekoe Guest Farm (Meerkat experience and Star-Gazing) and the safari at Mark's Camp Lalibela Reserve. The food and service generally we found to be exceptional in quality and value for money. Cape Town is a good base for visiting the Cape but Robben Island was very disappointing ...

Safari so goody!

For Sarah's 50th I arranged for us and our 15 year old Charlotte to go and see Jessica the hippo and then onto Umkumbe Lodge for 4 days safari. The trip was everything we had hoped for, all seamlessly arranged by Frances at Safari Consultants. My wife thanked me every day, and still does now that we are home. My daughter has discovered animal photography and we could not be happier. Getting used to the UK frost, and NO wildlife, is not going to be easy.

See above. Everything we could have wanted was arranged perfectly. Flights, transfers, guides, meals all worked very well. Frances at Safari Consultants was a star.

Masai Mara Explorations

An excellent trip to Lewa and the Mara Conservancies. All arrangements ran smoothly. It was great to see Rhino again at Lewa, also the unusual Gerenuk (a first for us), while the Conservancies had their usual wide spectrum of wildlife on show, particularly big cats but also a Zorilla (another first) and an unusual daylight sighting of a Serval. Unfortunately the trip was marred by a bout of enteritis for one of us (hence the lowered rating), ...

Lost count of the number of trips Safari Consultants have organised for us, as usual they listened to our requirements, came up with many suggestions and organised a customised trip that met our exacting requirements. Learning of the bout of sickness Safari Consultants made changes to the return journey and arranged assistance to ensure we travelled home comfortably and safely.
