The Valais region of Switzerland has the most stunning scenery, including from our lovely family run hotel in Bettmeralp. The service provided by the efficient Swiss rail network and cable car/ski lifts was first class. The aim of the tour was to visit the area near and far from Bettmeralp to observe the spring flowering alpine meadows and take note of any passing bird and butterfly life around. There were opportunities to see several mammals that are present in this area and have expert leaders on hand to guide us to all places of interest and impart their knowledge on aspects of bird, flower,etc., identification. Early morning bird walks were undertaken from the hotel to see and hear the abundant birdlife nearby in the forest.

Naturetrek have been a real find for us as we have done self-guided tours before but without such knowledgeable leaders you miss so much. Being taken to prime locations to see wildlife and have positive identifications of species has opened our eyes and made us wish we had been with Naturetrek before. This was our third tour with this firm and we already have two more booked. All flights, transfers, passes, accommodation and meals are included in the price. The company can't be faulted when it comes to customer service; any queries before booking or departure are dealt with promptly and efficiently. Would definitely recommend this tour company and the vast number of locations available to tour is staggering.

Fantastic and extraordinary wildlife break sailing around Spitsbergen (Svalbard) - all guests landed for guided viewing at a huge variety of sites, seeing polar bears (from boats), walrus, arctic foxes, svalbard reindeer, king eider, little auk etc etc. super accommodation on our ice-strengthened ship, superbly handled outings on zodiacs. The naturetrek guides, and the boat expedition leaders were enthusiastic, informative, and always available with answers. The food was great, the accommodation comfortable. Brilliant, memorable trip!

Naturetrek described the trip accurately and comprehensively beforehand, guided us helpfully without removing the sense of adventure, and saw everything through to a great finish.

Personable guides and experts in ornithology

Everything was taken care of, and our guide was great company as well as an expert birder. The weather wasn’t too kind to us, but we all had a great time, with a good balance of activity vs down time.

Well organised but still allowed for flexibility.

We had three fantastic tours with Naturetrek ,in 2014 in Arctic we had several polar bear viewings and unforgettable scenery , food and drink were exceptional standard ,we were about sixty in group ,Naturetrek staffs were very professional, in 2015 took Naturetrek Pantanal trip in Brazil ,one of the best tour guide Brazilian of African blood ,in our 30 years experience and had many a Jaguar 🐆 sightings ,tapir, ant eater and colourful birds, about 12 in the group all were of same temperament . our 2017 tour for Puma in Torres Del Paine did not go that well, though had several Puma and Condor sightings ,the guide was very quite and other four in the group were not very friendly, the operator fir Naturetrek who has now left arranged flight by Latam thro Sao Paolo to Santiago then to punta Arrenas took almost 48 hours to reach without proper food and drink. Latam flights all late and staffs not helpful rather rude . direct flight by BA would have been helpful. But pumas Condor at backdrop of Torres Del Paine ( our third visit there) were all unforgettable,

We have just completed a 12 day tour of Kazakhstan with Nature Trek on which we were lucky enough to have had two very fabulous leaders - both Botanists with exceptional knowledge. Svetlana Baskakova who has lived next to Kazakhstan’s oldest nature reserve -Aksu-Zhabagly sorted a brilliant itinerary ensuring that we covered as many different ecosystems as possible. Both Svetlana and co-leader Sophie Leguil went to enormous lengths each night to ensure the many new species we found in the reserve were correctly identified. The weather was perfect and the plant range superb.

This was our first trip with Nature Trek Wildlife Holidays and we found them superb to deal with. We are from New Zealand and booked two back to back tours with them, the second being 7 days in the French and Italian Alps with Philip Thompson. This second tour was a perfect contrast to the first, equally well managed and fulfilled all our hopes. We are already scanning the 2020 tour calendar for another tour or three !

Lots to see and admire on an island where you can relax. away from the busy lifestyle of the mainland (and Brexit!!). But just a short flight away. The holiday was well organised to suit all tastes.

We hugely enjoyed 6 days travelling round the North East coast of England with lovely views and splendid birding opportunities for the keen birders. The trip included two boat trips, the second one allowing us to land on two islands of the Inner Farnes. This allowed us to get very 'up close and personal' with nesting shags and colourful puffins, as well as being dive-bombed by the Arctic terns! The majority of the group were birders but the botanists were also afforded opportunities to see a wide variety of interesting plants. The weather was wonderful and the two guides made the perfect double-act, guiding and advising as well as caring and entertaining.

We have used Naturetrek holidays in many European countries, although this was our first in our own country! Through the expert guides, we saw and did far more than we could have done just by travelling generally. We also enjoyed the built-in companionship of those on the same adventure. We rate Naturetrek and their guides as the best out there.

A 5 day bird watching holiday, at the beginning of May, in the Coto Donana, Southern Spain consisting of a small group of clients and a knowledgeable Naturetrek group leader.

The organisation of the flights, hotel and tour in general, by Naturetrek was excellent.
