We booked with Inside Japan and had the most wonderful holiday staying at 8 different hotels with lots of Shinkansen train travel between places. We did a lot of city, temples and garden exploring. We were treated to several memorable experiences such as a private tea ceremony, tickets to a geisha dance show and an Osaka food tour. We stayed in the most magnificent Ryokan with outstanding clear views of Mount Fuji.

Inside Japan organised a very good self guided tour for us. Our hotels were expertly chosen to accommodate our needs of having western breakfast options and being very close to transport hubs. We were given very good customer support whilst travelling Japan via email and we had a very useful info pack which detailed everything we needed to know. They were able to book and reserve places that perhaps we couldn’t have done ourselves and little things like including pocket wifi as standard was something I may have tried to skimp on if we had organised the trip ourselves - thankfully we didn’t and realised the pocket wifi was indispensable! Inside Japan also booked private transfers approximately when we most needed them and they were of excellent standard.

Hidden Japan experienced and uncovered. Travelled from Kyoto though the artist's island of Shikoku and on to Hiroshima. Every day was a new experience, meeting a trainee geisha, visiting the puppet theatre, trying our hand at Kendo, riding on local buses, jumping on the bullet train, bathing in the hot baths and wearing a kimono to dinner. We walked and talked, laughed and ate incredible food and met some very interesting people.

Hidden Japan are consummate experts. The tour was comprised of many interesting and varied experiences and every single day we immersed ourselves in the local culture.

Had a great tour of Japan visiting a variety of places both on and off the beaten track. Our tour guide was fantastic - very knowledgeable about the places we were visiting and able to really bring them to life, but also incredibly helpful in researching and booking individual experiences that people wanted, and catering to everyones interests as much as possible.

Inside Japan were amazingly helpful. I had originally booked my holiday for October 2020. Throughout covid they were great at keeping in touch with the key information on what was happening, and were incredibly flexible in rearranging my tour 3 times around covid restrictions, and then my own preferences. Once the tour finally went ahead, everything operated smoothly with my flights, airport transfer, meeting up with the group, and throughout the whole tour. I couldn't have been better looked after, and this care extends not just for the tour, but from the moment you leave your house to the moment you return.

We had a 10 day self guided experience planned by InsideJapan Tours. We explored Tokyo, Hakone, Osaka, and Kyoto. We also had three wonderful private tour guides. One was a food tour and they were all fantastic.

I’ve always wanted to visit Japan in the winter, mostly because I love wildlife and have always wanted to see snow monkeys in the wild…in their “hot tub”. The Winter Highlights tour from InsideJapan Tours was well-paced, well-balanced in terms of types of activities, had a spectacular trip leader, Brett, and enough free time to do some exploration on our own. It was a beautiful trip.

Our tour operator arranged us a tour schedule that made the most logistical sense without losing out too much on travel time. This was the best I could have asked for.

Inside Japan tours helped us optimise our limited time in Japan (1 week) with a well-constructed itinerary, great guides and unique accommodation that added to our experience. All the smaller details were taken care of so we didn't waste our time trying to make decisions and work out the how's and where's.
