The Cleveland Way provides fantastic contrasts and anticipation of the next day was always a highlight. I've enjoyed the outdoors throughout my life and I found the break perfect for creating a space you can pause the rest of the world as you work through the gears to match the landscape.

The team at Mickledore pulled out the stops at very short notice to provide an itinerary that suited me and I would be happy to recommend them to anyone - very good accoommodation with very helpful hosts really helped at the end of a long day out and I'm already planning my next trip with Mickledore in mind.

We walked, ate, drank and relaxed for four days in a very beautiful part of the country - along the Cleveland Way.

Mickledore organised everything beautifully, including picking out the accommodation, arranged our bag transfers, and sorting out a rather complicated arrangement on the last day of our holiday. Their pack including all the information, guides, maps etc that were needed.

We walked part of the coastal section of the Cleveland Way in NE Yorkshire. The arrangements provided by Mickeldore were faultless: the b&bs, luggage transfers and maps and information provided were all excellent. Everything went without a hitch. This coastal route of the Cleveland Way is just right for those of us who do not wish to walk the whole of each day's section as it was easy to pick up a bus along the way. We might have cheated a bit on the walking now and then, but it meant we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, notwithstanding the rather wet weather!

We hiked the Cleveland Way for 9 days. Took in some amazing scenery and little villages that were idyllic. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Mickledore arranged all the accommodation and luggage transfers. Their choice of accommodation was wonderful. They provided maps and a guidebook as well as other detailed information on each village and amenities. Their app was useful as it contained all that information in one handy location.

In May 2018 I walked the coastal stretch of the Cleveland Way from Saltburn to Filey. Mickledore Walking Holidays booked the accommodation and arranged the transfer of my suitcase so that I was free to simply walk from one location to the other. What I loved the most was being able to set my own pace and stop and observe the little things along the path. I saw a young weasel, a deer, pheasants, slow worms, seabirds galore, wild garlic, bluebells, broom, unfurling bracken fronds and so much more. No decisions to make - except what I wanted for breakfast and where to eat on an evening - and no compromises. Five days away felt like I had had a fortnight's holiday. I would encourage other women out there who want to do something like this but are anxious about doing it alone to just go for it. The hosts are expecting you so there was always the reassurance that if I hadn't turned up and hadn't phoned, someone would be looking out for me.

Cleveland way coastal walk. All planned by Mickledore. A great experience packed by professional support. Wherever we stayed we had warm welcomes, comfortable rooms and great breakfasts. Out luggage was transported for us so we had a worry free holiday. All we had to do was concentrate on walking each day.

The Cleveland Way offers the walker the best of 2 worlds.....peaceful days in the countryside and atop the moors to bustling seaside coastal paths. Travelling from Canada we are truely amazed by the ease of travel outside the bigger cities. To get to our starting point we flew to Manchester......a train right at the airport to York.....and a bus 1 block away to Helmsley .....and a one block walk to our guesthouse. Very smooth and the locals were very helpful. We stopped for just a moment in York to check our map and a busy businessman stopped to offer assstnace. All of our accommodations were wonderful. Hundreds use this trail every year and the hosts we stayed with understood that we may be wet and muddy......and wet boots were always returned dry and ready for the next day. The path travels thru peaceful and quiet landscapes ......the moors are amazing. Then you get to the coast and the scenery changes to busy villages and many day hikers.....all interesting to talk to. Great variety on this hike......nice blend of England.

Mickeldore has never let us down. Their website is wonderful......great information about the walk and helpful in deciding what is the right option for you. Booking online also easy to do. We phoned the company to pay the deposit and then the final payment ....you can avoid the credit card charges by doing this....thanks for that option. The other option we appreciate is the booking of prepaid packed lunches......and they were all wonderful. The staff has always been quick in replying to our e-mails and when on the phone have been very helpful and friendly. We had one question while on the walk and an e-mail back and forth answered our concerns.....and within hours. Thanks. Our packages arrived very quickly after final payment.....the maps and book were the best. Our accommodations were super.....a real mix of hotel, guesthouse and B&B. Sometimes we thought they were closer ones .....always wondering why we kept walking.....but after the stay in these marvellous places we were glad for the extra steps. Never disappointed. Highly recommend using our favourite operator.
