A private trip for two people with bespoke tours in Sulawesi, Timor Leste, Bali, the Philippines, Brunei and Kuala Lumpur, plus stopovers in Qatar, Singapore, and Kuwait.

I am sure there were times during the planning stage of this trip that my name was mud in the UD office. Having started the process in 2019 for travel in the Autumn the following year, the plans changed a number of times over the following three years (delayed due to Covid) and I contacted Mark on numerous occasions with questions and amendments before the itinerary was eventually finalised. And what an itinerary it was, a private bespoke trip spanning eight countries over a period of eight weeks, incorporating three of UD's standard tours, all of which were modified to suit our needs. In addition, we added destinations not generally available on their website, with a total of 17 flights and 31 hotels. We were provided with detailed pre-trip information, including links to apply for visas. It wasn't until, as a control-freak, I created a chronological folder for all the paperwork, that I realised just how much work this must have been for Mark and the local teams. There is no way I could have attempted to put this together myself, and it is very reassuring to know that Mark regularly checks in with the local teams to ensure that everything is running smoothly. With 17 flights, 30 drivers, 23 guides and 31 hotels, the chances are that there will be a hiccup somewhere along the way. There wasn't. Everything just happened as if by magic. A tour operator is only as good as its local teams, and we have always found UD's partner agents to be excellent, with guides who go above and beyond to ensure traveller satisfaction. To give an example: we arrived at our accommodation to find a number of steep steps leading from the car park to the rooms (I have limited mobility), so the local team swapped us around with other clients (with their approval) to another lodge where there were no steps. That is true customer service. The complete customer service package is one of the reasons we keep using UD time and time again (11 times so far). Having used around 70 different tour operators over a lifetime of travel, I can honestly say that UD is one of the best out there. With their wide range of truly unusual destinations, their can-do attitude to personalising their itineraries, and their impeccable customer service, I hope to be in a position to book many more tours through them.

Undiscovered Destinations organized everything for us, the thing we had to do was following our itenerary by driving ourselves. We got a 2 week round trip in Namibia, very nice overnight stays, a good and informativ leaflet about what to see and how to get from place to place. A perfect holiday

We generally enjoy completely independent travel, but this enjoyable self-drive tour in Oman was the nearest thing and we felt very cared for, especially as there were problems with the outward flight (30 hour delay, and lost luggage) which both the UK and Oman staff dealt with as well as they could. The tour was busy but we were able to arrange some flexibility into it in advance and it gave us an excellent introduction to a fascinating and often beautiful country, with lovely polite people.

Although this was a group tour there were only 3 on trip so it felt like tailor made as following the itinerary was very flexible. Undiscovered Destinations.

We spent one day in Helsinki before taking the ferry to Tallin. The tour over two weeks took us throught Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. It was so well organised with only 4 participants. Our guides were nationals of all the countries that we visited and very professional, well informed and enthusiastic, proud of their countries. We learned so much about the history, culture and caracter of the areas we visited.

Undiscovered Destinations, specialise in small group tours visiting both popular and less well known places.

We spent 3 wks touring Madagascar from east to west and down to the south. Really good drivers and guides who spoke excellent english. The roads are indeed awful but it means the pace of the holiday allows you to really engage with the countryside as you are travelling. The national parks are interesting and varied. Hotels were better than expected and the food was plentiful and well presented, It is a very poor country and its best to be prepared for the amount of begging in both the cities and in the countryside.

Kept us well informed before we travelled and answered all our queries honestly.. The price was very good for all the inclusions we had.
