This trip was our on "bucket list" since we visited Turkey for the first time 40 years ago. This was a week long gullet trip complete with an archeologist from Cambridge University to teach us the history of the sites we traveled to. We feel so fortunate that we were able to do it: the perfect mix of history, exercise, relaxation, and amazing Turkish food. We highly recommend any trip with Peter Sommer Travels.

Very professional and well organized.

Our Peloponnese trip in October 2024 was a brilliant expedition and truly a tour for connoisseurs. The organisation was seamless and our group proved to be well-travelled, super fun and energised. Our two guides, Michael and Nota, were so enthusiastic and their animated narrative put the Peloponnese in thrilling historical and cultural perspective. They brought Classical history to life and placed us ‘in the moment.’ At no stage did we ever feel like lumpen tourists being led around by the nose: in fact, as a group we were participating in history and, literally, reenacting combat tactics as fierce Spartan hoplites! The food everywhere was outstanding, delicious and extremely healthy. We can’t recommend Peter Sommer’s tours too highly.

Fantastic all-inclusive tour of the Peloponnese. Tour guides Michael and Nota are experts in their fields and shared so much knowledge of the region in a manner that could be absorbed. Attention to detail amazing. It's hard to pick out a highlight as all the sites and meals were highlights.

I spoke with Peter Sommer when I was evaluating his company for our trip. He took the time to explain how they operate. His staff was also on top of all arrangements. We also relied on ATTO reviews. As the trip approached the staff provided relevant information. There were no glitches from arrival to departure.

Well-chosen walks in a wonderful location. Great opportunities for swimming. Delicious food both on-board and in carefully chosen family restaurants. A relaxing and stimulating holiday. The gullet was beautiful, with a very professional and helpful crew.

Travelled by good coach usually alternating 1 then 2 nights in any given location. Very well researched and delivered activities. Excellent food and guides. a group able to gel but individuals able to do their own thing too.

We cruised and walked Turkey’s Lycean Shore with Peter Sommer Travel. It was an extremely well organised tour, led by Peter Sommer whose knowledge of the region, its history and archaeology is absolutely superb. In addition, the gullet crew were great and the food was a real treat - including varied on-board fare and excellent lunches in small restaurants and families on the walks, very special.

We took a Peter Sommer Carian Coast Cruise and Walk. I had never used or heard of Peter Sommer but I can only say that it iexceeded our expectations. Knowledgeably guide by historian and archaeologist Richard Bayliss we enjoyed a week of walking and cruising, visiting some of the less known treasures of the Carian Coast,. After a hard walk it was always a delight to return to our gullet for a cooling swim in the clear blue-green sea. The gullet wax comfortable and spacious, the crew could not have been more helpful.. We all loved the whole experience , so much so that we are signing up for Peter Sommer’s Lycian Coast cruise next year.

An excellent combination of cruising in a gulet, walking, learning about ancient Lycia, led by two great guides who ensured we had a fabulous time. Wonderful food, local encounters and a comfortable gulet, run by friendly highly competent people
