Martin Randall travel created and delivered a most interesting visit including wsentry to private palaces guided by the owners . It was a privilege to be on such a tour . The specialist lecturer was very good as was the tour manager . Everything ran like clockwork. We loved it.

Excellent organisation made for an stress free trip

I flew to Delhi, India on suggested flights and met the rest of the group at baggage collection. We visited Delhi, Chandigargh, Amritsar, and Shimla with some short stops along the way, travelling by bus, car and plane. The destinations were all connected to the days when India was governed by the British.

A fully escorted and expert guided tour of North India. The itinerary is printed out in booklet form. All you have to do is turn up at the allotted time. As expected (and paid for) in a Martin Randall holiday, everything is the best available from food, hotel, guides and attention to detail.

Rating for tour operator:

The lecturer Dr Michael Douglas Scott was a consummate historian, never dry and an excellent guide bringing wit and an all embracing knowledge to a selected tour of palaces. Charlotte Howlet-Jones was the tour manager par excellence. Warm, happy, diligent and professional in all she did.

A First Class Introduction to the Glories of Rome

We spent 6 days visiting the great sites of Rome accompanied by a first class guide. We also had a very efficient tour manager with us . The highlight was a private visit to the Vatican Museum including the Sistine Chapel which we had to ourselves. I will remember the time we spent there for the rest of my life.

The essence of their tours is the quality of the guides and lecturers who in our experience are always first class. The itinerary can be quite demanding but we like that. The food, accommodation and travel arrangements are always first class.

Informative and pleasurable

It focussed on ancient Rome and catholic Rome, the 2 main contributions of Rome to world history. We were ferried to an area by minibuses and then explored on foot. We visited museums, churches and archaeological sites, and had some good meals as well.

Apart from a couple of dinners on days when one perhaps wouldn't want to eat much, everything was covered in the price, including tips, which I find very helpful. Personal peculiarities such as dietary requirements are taken care of.

Outstanding specialist experience.

Five days in Rome visiting palaces and villas, from Nero's Golden House to the eighteenth century. There was special access to the Vatican including the Sistine Chapel (all to ourselves for an hour and a half!) and to the Palazzo Farnese which is almost on the same artistic level but which is extremely difficult to access. My only disappointment was that the tour wasn't long enough!
