Flight to Rome -- 4 nights in Rome --- rail to Venice -- three nights in Venice -- fly to Gatwick. Everything went smoothly. The Hotel Columbia in Rome was very well sited and a very good standard. Train to Venice excellent and on time. Hotel in Venice very well-located and again a great standard. Good flights both ways

Ffestiniog Travel. I chose them because of the rail element of the holiday and also because I knew of them through the Ffestiniog Railway. Beyond that I knew nothing about them but they proved to be excellent.

Everything is so well organised and service exceptional

We travelled through Switzerland by rail using the mountain railways, funiculars and cable cars to visit high alpine areas with wonderful views of the surrounding peaks. The holiday was well thought out and organised so we were easily able to achieve all our objectives. Our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful.

A wonderful mix of steam railways, historic cities, attractive countryside, and delicious food. As always, travelling with FR Travel provides you with a great tour leader, friendly and varied company, and the opportunity to follow up your own interests. It was so good, I'd love to do it again sometime!

The schedule was perfectly paced for a group like ours, purposeful but never hurried, and the rail travel and hotel arrangements had been made with meticulous care. That doesn't just happen; it reflects the skill and experience of the tour company and the tour leader.
