This one week tour with my husband included visits to Avebury, Stonehenge, Bath and Bowood house and gardens

This one week tour provided by Peter Sommer Travels was exceptional in its content, the itinerary, and all of the support; hotels, meals, tour guides and transportation. Peter Sommer Travels is an excellent tour company which places the care, comfort and safety of its clients at the forefront. The tour was well organized following an engaging itinerary which was guided by professional and knowledgeable guides. We participated in two tours with the Peter Sommer Travels group that focused on Neolithic and Roman sites, with a few more modern sites that were tied to the overall historical theme. On the first tour we visited locations in Wessex that included Avebury, Stonehenge, Sarum and Bath. On the second tour we visited the remains of several Roman forts and museums near Hadrian's Wall in northern England. Additionally, we hiked several miles along the wall at various locations. A particular highlight of the first tour was access to the inner circle at Stonehenge, and a highlight of the second tour was seeing a 2000 year old Roman shoe pulled from the mud at Vindolanda.

This was our first experience with Peter Sommer Travels. We are delighted to give them an unqualified "excellent" rating in all aspects, from initial contact, to booking, to superb coordination by the tour organizers, the excellent knowledge and wonderful humor of our guide, and the selection of tour sites. We look forward to traveling with Peter Sommer Travels again.
