The Gorgeous Gambia

We stayed for 6 nights at Senegambia Hotel and then a private transfer over to Mandina Lodges for our last night. Both hotels were very different from each other but provided an excellent experience. Couldn't help noticing how lovely, smiley and helpful all the staff were in each hotel.

The Gambia Experience have thought of everything. I can't fault them in any way and just knowing that they are there to help whatever may happen during your holiday really does help you to relax.

An insight into African culture but with some transit and organisational issues

Initial flight delayed 5hr due to weather. We still would have been in time (by 2.25hrs) for our previously advised 21:30 transfer to Santiago, but for some non-advised reason flight details had changed to 18:30 so we had to spend a first unscheduled night on Santiago. This delayed transit to Santiago when there was no direct flight, so wasted more time flying via San Vincente. The welcome meeting was therefore not until 10am the following day...

This delayed transit to Santiago when there was no direct flight, so wasted more time flying via San Vincente. The welcome meeting was therefore not until 10am the following day.. Excursions were arranged OK but we had lost a whole day. Once into the excursions, these were excellent experiencing and seeing various elements of primarily African culture. However, departure time was at odds between pre-advised travel information and that which was on documents received in Sal.

Rating for tour operator:

Booking and pre-flight info seemed good. However, as mentioned above there were some transit and organisational issues which were not expected and did not appear necessary.

Fabulous

I enjoyed the wonderful warm and sunny climate and the equally warmness of the Gambians on the whole. I have visited The Gambia several times now and it is a particularly good place to visit during the British winter months when it is dark and cold. The flight is fairly short compared to other warm winter holiday sun destinations, there is no time difference and English is a known language to the locals.

A wonderful winter holiday

A thoroughly enjoyable holiday, relaxing and excellent cuisine. Plenty of opportunities to meet the local people and enjoy the wildlife while experiencing a very comfortable climate for a winter break. Comfortable flight and no jet lag

A great taster of Cape Verde life.

Visited five islands each different in character and all travel arrangments were faultless. Hotels were excellent and characterful. The excursions were well guided and extremely interesting.

Great weather, interesting experience

Had a great time, first visit to The Gambia, not for the faint hearted if you are upset of affected by poverty once you go outside The complexes. Not as cheap as you would expect for food / drink for such a poor country. Weather was very good, low 30s. Lots to see and do around the area, very little nightlife / entertainment both outside in the resort and in the hotels in general.
