It was a wonderful and surprisingly emotional experience. The Sherpas , lead by Bal , and the porters looked after us really well. I enjoyed asking about their culture and customs . They were all warm and friendly and on the last night after our trek it was a pleasure to share their joy in dancing ! Accommodation on the AMA Dablam trek was basic as expected , the higher up we ascended the more basic bathroom facilities were but that was part of the experience . and what an experience, the views and countryside were spectacular! We were very well catered for with food. It was plentiful, always freshly cooked and delicious. I enjoyed sightseeing in Kathmandu as well but the trek was the highlight . Trip of a lifetime!

Roland, director of the Mountain Company was excellent. Booking process very easy. The pre trip information was thorough, and informative and included a fitness questionnaire in advance and a training plan provided . A what’s app group of everyone on the trip was set up a couple of months before the trip which was really helpful as we could discuss things in advance. We got stuck for an extra night in Lukla as because of low cloud flights were unable to operate out of Kathmandu. The local tour operator that Mountain Company work with ,were excellent and we got priority and got first flight out the following morning. they also got us upgraded on return to the hotel in Kathmandu . Our Sherpa team led by Bal were wonderful, they looked after us really well and we really enjoyed their company . I was very impressed with The Mountain Company.

Excellent and well organised trek to Ama Dublam Base Camp, Nepal

This was my first trekking holiday and my first time in Nepal, so I was quite nervous to begin with. Also, I had never been to such high altitude. By the end of the holiday, however, I was hooked; I want to go trekking in Nepal again. I felt like I achieved something big and The Mountain Company helped me to achieved my goal of trekking in Nepal and seeing Mount Everest with my own eyes.

Everything was very well organised and ran smoothly. Mr Roland Hunter was patient in answering my questions. The staff in Nepal was superb too; I was well looked after in Kathmandu and during the trek. The ratio of guides to trekkers was excellent - I was one of the slowest trekkers in the group and there was always a guide at the back to ensure everyone was safe. While on the trek, the food and the hot drink were included. There was enough drink to ensure all the trekkers were hydrated. There was plenty of food. The accommodation was excellent too, both in Kathmandu and in the mountains. I felt that The Mountain Company really know what they are doing and have local knowledge.

Great experience

A group of 11 of us trekked from Lukla to the Ama Dablam base camp in late November early December. No roads and no cars, just people and animals trekking up and down the mountain paths. It was very cold but not intolerably so and the sun shone practically the whole trip. It seems an ideal time of the year to take the trip as the weather is good and, as it is near the end of the season, there are fewer people. Of course the view are spectacular ...

The trip booking guidance, pre-trip information, quick and helpful response to questions, and everything about the trip itself was exemplary. I felt well informed and looked after throughout, from the office, the guides, porter and driver. The communication and organisation from the Mountain Company was exceptional.

Trek from Lukla to Aba Dablam returning to Lukla.

A trek at high altitude organised & run by professionals who made sure the 11 people were well looked after & safe every step of the way. Nothing was too much trouble.

A "breath taking" trek through the Himalayas to the Ama Dablam Base Camp.

A trip to put on your bucket list. The difficulties associated with altitude on this trip, disappeared into insignificance. The experience was one of joy and elation at having the opportunity to trek through these sacred lands. We were humbled not only by the landscape but by the wonderful people who live and work in this special place. True and honourable custodians of this land.

a wonderful experience both the trekking and meeting the people of Nepal, it was an education.

My trip to Ama Dablam base camp in the Everest reason was an excellent choice as the trek follows quieter trails as well as the main Everest base camp trail. I would without doubt recommend this trip to Ama Dablam base camp especially to a first timer of a mature age like myself.

Roland ,the director of the Mountain Company was always available beforehand to answer any queries I had about the trip. My e mails were answered promptly and were always very detailed and considered. Khumbu trekking off the beaten track

An excellent alternative to the usual Everest Base Camp trek - slightly shorter and easier, but with quieter paths and visits to small villages.

The Mountain Company - excellent from the start - no probs with booking - and all the extras (flights/insurance etc etc) were sorted easily. Guides (for Kathmandu tour and the trek itself) were top notch. The big plus was the sudden itinerary change required due to illness - caused absolutely no problems because we had a guide and a proper company backing us up - a couple of phone calls and everything was sorted with minimum fuss - the reason for travelling with a bona fide company.
