Just got back from the Ridgeway Path

At 81 and 73 we must be two of Mickledore older clients. However we have just completed the Ridgeway Walk in 8 days and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was booked at short notice but Mickledore found us some beautiful pubs. We even stayed mainly dry despite such a wet late September in the south of England.

This was our third trip with Mickledore and once again everything was well organised and went smoothly. They are extremely helpful and knowledgeable with all aspects of the planning. The maps, guidebooks and extra information they supply like where to choose for evening meals all help to make a stress free and enjoyable trip.

Coast to Coast walk - St Bees to Robin Hood's Bay

We did a 15 day 16 night walking holiday across the country. Our accommodation was booked and our cases transferred between accommodation each day. We also had packed lunches where offered. The walks were self guided but Mickledore provide detailed information on facilities en route together with a useful map and guide.

This is our third walk with Mickledore, and you don't go back if they do a bad job do you? We told them what we wanted to do with an approximate start date and they came back with some advice about the start date and an estimate of the cost. Everything in terms of planning and booking the accommodation was left to them and they did a wonderful job. The accommodation can be anything from a hotel to a gust house or B&B but it's always carefully chosen and is always absolutely great, with a few exceptional choices along the way.

Another excellent walking holiday from Mickledore

We completed the Cleveland Way in August this year. What a fantastic walk of two distinct halves with the 1st week up on the North Yorkshire Moors with views over the Vale of Mowbray towards the Pennines and 2nd week down the east coast to Filey with the North Sea and many quaint coastal villages along the way.

Yet again the team at Mickledore put together a brilliant package. We had the usual professional service from start to finish. Our accommodation, luggage transfers, packed lunches and taxi transfers went without a hitch. Only one problem, where next!!!

Duration: 7 days/ 8 nights. Walks took us thru farmlands and fields and small towns. We found that all walks were easy, there were no steep ascents. We had time watching the sheep that also kept an eye on us while invading their territory! The walk along the Tweed River was peaceful and pleasant, a few anglers were teasing the salmon trouts. The landscape was beautiful, hills at a far distance. The medieval Abbeys were stunning,. We did walk ...

We had time watching the sheep that also kept an eye on us while invading their territory! The walk along the Tweed River was peaceful and pleasant, a few anglers were teasing the salmon trouts. The landscape was beautiful, hills at a far distance. The medieval Abbeys were stunning,. We did walk to Abbotsford and enjoyed the tour. The weather was perfect and we had no rain. We were pleased by the accommodations, the size of the rooms, the hosts, the breakfasts and the locations of the hotels.

Rating for tour operator:

Mickledore is an excellent operator., this was our 3rd self-guided walk with Mickledore. We always received prompt replies to our numerous queries. everyone is courteous, professional and ready to modify the itinerary if we presented them with specific demands. The information provided in the packet is useful and very detailed: with links to restaurants, to hotels, maps, shops, cafés, etc. Their website is fantastic, easy to use and contains useful and necessary information on the available various walks, along with travel info, summary of the route, level of difficulty,, etc. We like the options of choosing different lengths of walks based on the distance we want to cover every day. All taxi and luggage transfers were on time, which was also the case during our two previous walks booked with Mickledore. We would not hesitate to recommend this operator.

We have just finished an epic adventure hiking the Dingle Way organized by Mickledore Travel. We have used them for several years and come back time and again for their professional services and attention to our individual needs. We enjoy their recommended restaurants and best possible accommodations along the way. Their app is easy to use and they are also very responsive via phone and email.
