Wonderful tour of Scotland and a touch of Ireland

We travelled by train for 10 days from Edinburgh back to Glasgow, covering the highlands, and Isle of Skye. We took extra time on the Isle of Skye and in Edinburgh and I think I would have added more time in Glasgow. Trains were a great option for those who don't want to drive. We spent 3 days in Dublin, and a day trip to the Wicklow Mountains - beautiful. I would go back and discover Ireland more next time.

I had several issues on my trip and McKinley Kidd was there to assist me. We encountered an airline strike and they were on the phone 24/7 just making sure we was ok. They arranged to cancel my lodging for the night as we were not going to make it. We also had a rail strike in Scotland and they got us a taxi for alternate transportation. Made sure we were aware of this in plenty of time.

Many thanks for your kind review. I am glad that the various travel "challenges" you encountered did not spoil the overall experience.

Car hired and drove around Skye. Accommodation arranged by McKinlay Kidd excellent - information and suggestions excellent. Dunvegan Castle and gardens plus seal boat most pleasant. A 'Bucket List' wish fulfilled.

At relatively short notice McKinlay Kidd organised a trouble free holiday with excellent maps and information. The hotels arranged for us were delightful and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring the numerous islands. Our hobby of bird watching was more than satisfied.

Exploring the Outer Hebrides

This involved staying in 5 hotels, 2 nights at each. We started on the southern-most island of Barra, and ended up on Lewis, before sailing to Skye for our last 2 nights. This was an excellent holiday to an area of Scotland we had not visited before.

Tailor-made Car-free Aran Islands

Wanted to do something great for a special occasion and whilst the standard trip was not available for the dates we wanted,McKinlay Kidd were able to come up with a tailor-made alternative which was just as good. Throughout the trip everything was in place for when we arrived in Galway and then flew over to the Aran Islands and stayed in a lovely B&B that went out of its way to make us welcome and looked after our needs.

We went to the Royal Highland show-Scotland`s showcase for agricultural and countryside pursuits and products. We visited the Botanical gardens-with its magnificent glasshouses and we spent hours in the Museum of Edinburgh, visiting the amazing Celtic exhibition. We went to swim in the Commonwealth pool-this pool used also for Olympic training. As we were slightly exhausted after all that, we took a day tour to Loch Lomond and Stirling Castle with a flying visit to The Kelpies! We stayed in a comfortable and welcoming hotel which Mckinlay Kidd found for us.
