Grand train ride around Scotland
Everything was planned by McKinlay Kidd. It was a wonderful experience. And will do another tour with them soon as well.

Scotland and Ireland by train
My wife and I started our train holiday catching a train in Glasgow and traveling up to the West Highlands, staying in Kinlock Rannoch, Spean Bridge, Airisaige, Oban and Glasgow. Our tour operator arranged everything with driver pick up to accomodations, tours, excursions, ferries, some dinner reservations etc. We then flew to Dublin and took a train to Sligo, Westport, Galway and Dublin.

Rating for tour operator:McKinlay Kidd was Fantastic! Linzi guided us through the planning over the previous months and was very easy to work with. We had to make a lot of changes at one point and she was very responsive and got it all done wonderfully. A couple of times we had to call during our trip when an issue came up and everyone was right there to solve any problem we had and followed up to make sure everything was taken care of. A great team!
Scotland was excellent
We had McKinley Kidd organise our great tour of Scotland by rail. We saw most of the country even the places most wouldn’t think to go. Had a few issues with ScotRail but MKK sorted alternative ie buses instead so we didn’t miss a thing. mKK packages everything up on the Vamoos app complete with a detailed daily planner so you can’t do wrong. All our taxi drivers and hotel keepers were ready and waiting for us. We couldn’t be happier with the ...

All our taxi drivers and hotel keepers were ready and waiting for us. We couldn’t be happier with the quality of our accommodation and excursions. We will use MKK again to plan Ireland. We didn’t know it but you can ask them to tweak a set holiday or ask them to organise what you want to do
Rating for tour operator:They stayed in touch with us via WhatsApp which was good because no all eSIMs allow phone calls. They reply at all hours in case you get into trouble. Don’t have to worry about business hours to speak to someone from MKK. They will even book your reservations for dinner! Just have to ask
Introduced us to places and accommodations we wouldn't have found for ourselves
A follow up section of Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way. Great interpretation of our broad brush requirements by McKinlay Kidd with super hotels and recommendations for things to see and do, places to eat, at our destinations.

Rating for tour operator:This was our fourth or fifth time of using McKinlay Kidd - they've always been excellent
Loch Ness, The Jacobite Train and Skye Guided Rail
A beautiful holiday filled with memorable experiences. We visited the Highlands and the Isle of Skye. On this trip we were on trains with views that could not be appreciated from roadways. McKinlay Kidd included an evening of storytelling and folk music. We would recommend McKinlay Kidd for UK travel!

McKinlay Kidd Holiday - Highlands, Castles, and Whisky By Train
We had a fantastic trip! Many thanks to the staff at McKinlay Kidd (Linzi, Victoria, and all the rest) for helping us plan our trip and being there for us during the trip. (Only one small hiccup on a Saturday, and Victoria was there to assist!) We highly recommend the trip and the agency.

Rating for tour operator:We asked for a couple of additions to the normal tour, and they were so happy to accommodate us. When one tour guide didn't show, they worked to get us a replacement and save our day. First time working with a travel agency, and they were fantastic.
Wonders of Ireland and Scotland
Four of us travelled to Ireland and Scotland for the first time. We wanted to see a lot of both countries without needing to rent a car. McKinlay Kidd put together a busy, excellent vacation. We stayed in 5 towns/cities in Ireland and 6 in Scotland. We had a number of excursions and enjoyed what is a excellent train network in both countries. With all the moving and connections, tickets and people there could have been issues but other ...

We stayed in 5 towns/cities in Ireland and 6 in Scotland. We had a number of excursions and enjoyed what is a excellent train network in both countries. With all the moving and connections, tickets and people there could have been issues but other than minor problems easily solved it went almost seemlessly. Loved all of it!
Rating for tour operator:We contacted McKinlay Kidd first by email and then by phone once we had an idea of what we wanted. We worked with two or three team members at McKinlay Kidd and all were friendly and prompt when answering questions or addressing a concern. We have made some suggestions to them about what might have made our trip a little better, mostly as it relates to excursions that we might have chosen differently had we better understood the time and circumstances of the excursion. Not a significant issue by any means. We have already recommended McKinlay Kidd to friends and they have already booked their own vacation in Ireland and Scotland with them.
Never enough!
I enjoyed every minute and every experience I had on McKinlay Kidd's Loch Ness, the Jacobite and Skye Train tour. We started in Glasgow, took the train to Fort William, spent a couple of days touring the Loch Ness area, took the Jacobite to Mallaig, ferried to Skye, explored Skye, spent an evening in Inverness and then trained back to Edinburgh. Rating for tour operator:McKinlay Kidd provided us with a fabulous guide - informed, funny, helpful - who was with us the entire time, an itinerary that was engaging and energizing, and accommodations that offered us the best!
