Martin Randall provide a high quality experience

A London day visit to a selection of Wren City churches including Temple Bar and the hidden parts of St Paul’s. A well-chosen selection with accompanying, well-informed, commentary, delivered with pace and enthusiasm.

My experience of several Martin Randall holidays is consistently good, indeed excellent. Extremely well-organised, they always do what they say they will do and communication is helpful, clear and timely. The speakers are first class and also help to provide a sociable experience.

We enjoyed superb leadership from the "lecturer," who is deeply knowledgeable. A diverse set of topics - Holy Roman Empire/urban design/arts and architecture, gardens.

Martin Randall are very intelligent; the tours aim high and deliver.

We toured on foot selected Wren churches in the City of London, guided by Mr Martin Randall, culminating in Wren's masterpiece St Paul's. At each venue we were given a lecture that not only described the particular features of the building in question, but which also set it in the context of its time from the viewpoints of economics, religion, society and geography. On the way we had coffee in a converted Wren church and an excellent lunch inside Temple Bar.

MRT are rightly famous for their high standards, which were observed throughout. The booking process was simple and backed up by knowledgeable and helpful staff on email and the telephone. The website gave all the information needed to book and post-booking paperwork was faultless.

An international music festival, 2 concerts a day interspersed with interesting visits and good food.

Short tour in Belgium, based in Ghent but visiting, Antwerp, Bruges and Brussels. Comfortable hotel, engaging lecturer, effective tour manager, interesting companions and good food all added up to a lovely trip

From the Nordic Embassy complex to the Berliner Philharmonic to the Chapel of Reconciiation to the DZ Bank Building (inside is amazing) to mention just a few locations this was a well paced tour. Tom Abbot is an excellent lecturer. Our Tour Manager Fiona was lovely and ensured the tour ran smoothly. If there were any glitches we did not see them! The Regent Hotel is a very comfortable hotel and the included dinners were in good restaurants. Congenial travel companions from a variety of countries helped make this a very enjoyable tour.

Efficient, friendly and well organised from initial contact through to end of the holiday

We were in Lincoln for 5 days for the 400th anniversary of William Byrd’s death - “The Master of Music”…. He was employed in the Royal Court and cathedrals from Henry VIII through to James 1 reign, writing music sung in large churches or in small clandestine churches - Catholic masses. The holiday was so well organised, it wa relaxed, nothing was too much trouble; the transport always worked - the instructions and help relevant; the programme notes authoritative and knowledgable. The whole trip was so well researched and put together, music sung by excellent internationally renowned consorts (and consorts of viols ) in the relevant period churches round about Lincoln. The accommodation and food was excellent - i could not fault it. Most importantly, the music was sublime - the venues had excellent accoustics, and the whole experience was superb.

Martin Randall himself had clearly been close to the organisation of this tour from it’s inception, and he was with us throughout marvelling in the music and the places we visited for the concerts. There is a clear ethos which covers all bases, and all staff had a smile, and a yes can do attitude…

Based in Lincoln, this was a series of concerts of music primarily by Byrd and his contemporaries performed by various choral and other groups in a variety of venues connected with Byrd.

We have travelled with Martin Randall Travel many times before and this tour fully lived up to the high standards we have seen previously. It was well thought out and well organised.
