We spent almost 3 weeks exploring Japan, including Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Kanazawa, Hiroshima and Takayama. We explored temples and shrines, bustling cities, markets and countryside. We enjoyed a tea ceremony and got quite carried away by a sumo tournament. We experimented with the local cuisine and hot spring baths. We stayed in wonderful ryokans and enjoyed traditional Japanese hospitality. We were delighted by wonderful transport systems, (trains, plane, boats and buses) and fell in love with the Japanese people, whose kindness and politeness was enchanting. Our guides provided insights into Japanese culture and history in a way that was easy to absorb and entertaining. Out trip was tailored to our needs, but relied on the expertise of the travel company to flesh it out.

Inside Japan were marvellous, right from my initial phone calls to explore the possibilities for our trip, right through to support while we were away. The logistics of all our travel, hotels, guided tours and the sumo experience were perfect and everything ran smoothly. We really felt that they had understood our wants and needs and tailored our holiday itinerary to suit us perfectly.

We are mature aged travelers looking for a semi self guided experience for our first trip to Japan. Inside Japan Tours delivered exactly what we hoped for. A great itinerary, wonderful accommodation, knowledgeable guides/and great cultural experiences. The arrangements including shinkansen travel, staying in touch, convenient hotel sites near major transport hubs, all added to our enjoyment and ease of touring. A highlight was attending a Grand Sumo Tournament in Osaka. Another was the onsen experience. A wonderful country to visit. A very polite and considerate society!

Inside Japan did everything to accommodate our touring needs. Their package was excellent in terms of their comprehensive itinerary and associated arrangements. It still allowed us considerable time for self guided activities and 'time to relax'. The experience of their staff and knowledge of Japan was a key reason we chose them. We booked with Inside Japan and had the most wonderful holiday staying at 8 different hotels with lots of Shinkansen train travel between places. We did a lot of city, temples and garden exploring. We were treated to several memorable experiences such as a private tea ceremony, tickets to a geisha dance show and an Osaka food tour. We stayed in the most magnificent Ryokan with outstanding clear views of Mount Fuji.

Inside Japan organised a very good self guided tour for us. Our hotels were expertly chosen to accommodate our needs of having western breakfast options and being very close to transport hubs. We were given very good customer support whilst travelling Japan via email and we had a very useful info pack which detailed everything we needed to know. They were able to book and reserve places that perhaps we couldn’t have done ourselves and little things like including pocket wifi as standard was something I may have tried to skimp on if we had organised the trip ourselves - thankfully we didn’t and realised the pocket wifi was indispensable! Inside Japan also booked private transfers approximately when we most needed them and they were of excellent standard.

We had a 10 day self guided experience planned by InsideJapan Tours. We explored Tokyo, Hakone, Osaka, and Kyoto. We also had three wonderful private tour guides. One was a food tour and they were all fantastic.

Our tour operator arranged us a tour schedule that made the most logistical sense without losing out too much on travel time. This was the best I could have asked for.
