Great walking experience and superb scenery
We booked the 7 day Amalfi to Sorrento walking holiday (self guided)and interspersed it with 5 rest days with some in the middle and a couple of days extra in Sorrento at the end. The hotels were very good, central and often with good views or lovely roof terraces to enjoy at the end of the day. The walking was very interesting, scenic and varied. The hotels were very good, central and often with good views or lovely roof terraces to enjoy at the end of the day. The walking was very interesting, scenic and varied. At the beginning there were lots of steps to walk with less so on the last few days, so need to be prepared for that. We combined the walking with a couple of beach days and a boat trip to Capri, visit to Pompeii and Herculaneum and Vesuvius which made it a very varied holiday.
Rating for tour operator:On Foot Holidays (we dealt with Mary) were excellent. They were very professional, prompt with organisation, patient with my different and individual requests to change the itinerary. The paperwork, maps and information was very good, together with up to date bus timetables for the areas and useful local information. The route directions were typed in large type so glasses were not necessary and although nothing went wrong, we felt if it had, they would have sorted it with no problem. Our local taxi driver for airport transfer was friendly and efficient, so we used him for a private car to get round Pompeii and Herculaneum and Vesuvius all on one day which the larger tours don't do. We would definitely use them again.
great unguided walking in a beautiful environment
the walk ws everything and more than we expected. The environment was beautiful and varied, the walk was challenging, the weather was perfect for walking, the accommodation was very good, and the real plus for we 67 year olds was the fact that we didn't have to carry a heavy pack.

Rating for tour operator:'On Foot' were excellent from the time we first made enquiries about the walk until the time we departed on our holiday They followed up all questions quickly and courteously and were happy to make any adjustments we requested in regard to accommodation A very comprehensive walker's pack was provided and it was reassuring knowing that a local contact was at the end of a phone call should we have needed assistance We would definitely use them again and recommend them to others
Amalfi
Excellent. Extremely detailed route notes that were extraordinarily accurate. We went with upgraded hotels but all were very suitable.

Wonderful 7 night holiday walking along the Amalfi coast
We went to the Amalfi coast in mid May and had good weather. The scenery is breathtaking and the wild flowers were lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed all the small hotels where we stayed. We easily navigated our way on the walks, some quite tiring, but manageable for anyone of average fitness. Amalfi is a great place to stay and we really enjoyed exploring the tiny alleyways and steps between the houses. The climb to Ravello is well rewarded ...

Amalfi is a great place to stay and we really enjoyed exploring the tiny alleyways and steps between the houses. The climb to Ravello is well rewarded by the beautiful views from the Cimbrone gardens and the traffic free streets and squares. The walk continues along the coast to Praiano and Positano and we then spent a day exploring the Sorrento peninsular - all just great.
Rating for tour operator:On Foot Holidays are the best company I have used for booking a walking holiday. The walks were very well planned and the information, maps and directions we were sent were accurate and extremely useful with lots of extra detail and background information. I have never been sent such clear walking notes with each day in a separate plastic wallet. All the staff I spoke/e-mailed were very knowledgeable and helpful and responded very quickly to queries. The hotels chosen were ideal and there was also a local person contactable for help should you need it.
Stunning Amalfi Coast Self-Guided Walk
I walked the beautiful Amalfi Coast in May with On Foot Holidays. The scenery was stunning. The walks were enjoyable, if a little strenuous at times, but there was always an easier option on offer. The accommodation was in general very good to excellent. I walked on my own, following the very detailed route notes provided, and never got lost. Walking is a great way to experience a country. It was a truly wonderful holiday.

Rating for tour operator:Friendly, helpful staff who kept me informed about the upcoming walk and last minute route changes due to landslips. As this was a self-guided tour it was important that the information provided be comprehensive, detailed and helpful. It was, from providing information about all possible connections to get to the start of the tour, to detailed route notes, to restaurant recommendations close to the accommodation. This was my first tour with On Foot Holidays, and I would use them again. I would also recommend them to friends and family.
The best way to really see the Amalfi Coast
Eight days of hiking the Amalfi coast while OnFootHolidays arranges hotels, provides maps and cue sheets and transfers luggage each day.

Amalfi Coast
Excellent experience all round, we thoroughly enjoyed it. We booked a self guided walking holiday along the Amalfi Coast, plus added on three extra days, one in Sant' Agata, and two in Sorrento. Our walk took us to the villages and towns of Amalfi, Ravello, Praiano, Positano, Sant' Agata, Massa Lubrense, Sorrento, and a hike high into the Vallee delle Ferriere. We also visited Pompeii and the Isle of Capri.

Rating for tour operator:On Foot Holidays really put the effort into ensuring that all aspects of the holiday were a pleasure, from the transfer details, hotels, self guided walking trip notes and maps, general information regarding your location, plus eating and drinking recommendations. We felt as though we had a permanent guide with us, although we were on our own! Their staff per a pleasure to deal with, their customer service was second to none. We're looking forward to travelling with them again.
