Wonderful excursion to see several operas, several of the leading private houses in the area as well as other items of general interest, led by an operator who gave fascinating and useful insight into the many areas that the tour encompassed.

Houses and gardens in the Scottish Borders, an underviisited area of great beauty and historical importance. All houses and gardens. visited were of the highest quality, many never open or opened specially.

I have taken Ciceroni tours before and have always found them exceptional.

Accompanied by our excellent and knowledgeable guide, a group of us had exclusive access to a variety of sumptious houses, castles and gardens, many containing fabulous collections of paintings, furniture and works of art.

Ciceroni is a small company which specialises in international cultural tours. Modest groups of travellers are accompanied by highly knowledgeable and charming guides, and the highest standards of accommodation and comfort are assured.

We visited several of these grand houses of differing architectural styles which have been in private ownership for hundreds of years, some of which have splendid Adam intereriours and all have wonderful collections of paintings an artefacts. Our guide, Tom Duncan ably focused our attention on the most important and interesting features. Equally enjoyable were the lovely gardens full of old fashioned roses and lavender exuding a wonderful romantic atmosphere.

Tom Duncan is an art historian who founded Ciceroni Travel. We have travelled with him many times and find him very informative and entertaining. His tours are always very well organized and interesting.

Could not have been better.

The tours around Chicago provided a solid understanding of a city which I had never visited. I suspect that, even if I had been there before, I might have missed the significance of the particular architectural style developed after the great fire of 1871. The pace was relaxed, the lectures interesting, the food delicious and the company delightful.

This was my fifth Ciceroni trip. I am 'hooked' in eager anticipation of the next one.

It was brilliant ... being 'looked after' is a new experience for me! It's usually me doing that. The attention to detail was second to none.

This was an excellent holiday of 5 days covering early renaissance art in outstanding towns such as Assisi and Orvieto. The guides were first rate and the pace of the tour was very well planned. The hotel was superb ,including an indoor swimming pool to relax in after a busy day .Each day a really excellent restaurant was chosen for invariably superb dining. The small group gelled together very well which added hugely to the fun of the holiday. Travelling was well organised and very easy (no early morning starts!) I had a lovely time!
