Sunvil has pioneered many specialist destinations over five decades. The original directors still play an active part in the day-to-day running of the company and we are all proud that repeat and recommended holidaymakers make up 70% of our customers - due testament to our expertise and dedication to quality. Everyone in the team visits our specialist destinations many times; they know them and our properties, self-catering or hotel, extremely well. Unusually, in this web-based travel age, we take full responsibility for our holidays, too, putting us in the very top echelon of companies that you can really trust to look after your holiday plans. Sunvil is proud, over 50 years, to have gained many accolades and awards, both from the travel industry itself and from the national press and leading consumer publications such as Holiday Which? and Wanderlust magazine.

We’ve been at the forefront of environmental initiatives and good practice for many years. Yes, it’s enlightened self-interest and, yes, it’s also good business practice – but we believe in it passionately.

We first started in Cyprus in 1970 and our Cyprus programme features a wide range of accommodation from secluded self-catering villas, boutique hotels in mountain villages, converted village houses, a wide range of hotels from simple to five star and a host of holiday ideas. Greece followed in 1974, and our brochure features properties away from the tourist honeypots in both well known and unknown locations of the country. No other operator can match the variety and originality of our programme.

Italy and Sicily have featured in our portfolio since 1979 and we feature a wide variety of accommodation from agrotourism farms and wine estates in Sicily and on the mainland to city hotels, country mansions and hideaway pensions throughout the country. Much the same can be said for our programme to Portugal, which covers areas like the Alentejo, as well as all other regions on the mainland, Madeira and the Azores, where our direct flight makes us the leading operator to the islands.

We began our Scandinavia programme in 2008 and feature Sweden, Norway and the Faroe Islands in depth, both during the summer and the winter. Again, the emphasis is on character properties, sometimes in the more remote locations as well as in the cities. Flexibility is the key for all our arrangements.

We take full responsibility for what we do and are answerable in the UK for all our overseas activities and accommodation. We have a full ATOL licence to protect all monies held by us and are members of ABTA and AITO, the Association of Independent Tour Operators.
