Day 1/2 With 25 different wildlife species on the 6000 hectares at GocheGanas, game drives remain a very popular activity. Game drives are undertaken early morning and late afternoon and includes a stop halfway where we serve snacks and drinks to our guests. Qualified guides assist with sharing information on fauna, flora and interesting bird species. With the abundance of game on the farm, every game drive has its highlights, especially when guests are lucky enough to view the resident rhino family! Onsite there is a dedicated family suite and activities to suit kids of all ages including game drives, mountain biking, nature walks and a wellness centre.
Day 3/5 The well-established Ongava Lodge is situated in the privately owned Ongava Game Reserve along the southern boundary of Etosha National Park. Placed close to the top of a hill in the foothills of the Ondundozonanandana range, the vantage point is beautiful and overlooks a well-frequented waterhole and the plains beyond.
Ongava Lodge offers luxury accommodation in 14 rock-and-thatch en-suite chalets including a dedicted family suite. There are impressive views over the camp’s waterhole from the main lounge and dining areas and there is also an inviting pool to cool off in the heat of the day. Meals are either served in the main dining area under thatch or on the dining deck under the stars.
Activities include game drives into Etosha, spending time in the camp hide, and nature drives and walks on the reserve. Ongava has resident white and black rhino, giving guests staying at Ongava the opportunity to see both species.
Day 6/8
Okonjima is the home of AfriCat, a non-profit organisation committed to the long-term conservation of Namibia's large carnivores. AfriCat is the world's largest Cheetah and Leopard rescue & release programme.
The Luxury Bush Camp is situated at the edge of a wilderness area, 3km from Okonjima Main Camp. Bush Camp comprises 8 thatched, African-style chalets, including 1 luxury, Honeymoon Suite with fire-place, bath and out-side 'bush shower'. Each exclusive chalet enjoys complete privacy, and is a unique combination of ochre walls and khaki-green canvas, under a thatched roof.
Visitors are invited to participate on foot in the radio-tracking of the rehabilitated Cheetahs or the Spotted Hyaenas on the Tracking Trail within the 4,500 and 16,000 hectare rehabilitation nature reserves. At the nocturnal hide, visitors may view after-dinner 'nightlife' such as porcupine, honey-badgers and caracal, amongst others.
