Marrakech/Essaouira - Sea & Souk Overview

For a first visit to Morocco the combination of the beautiful coastal town of Essaouira and the vibrant souks of Marrakech is a perfect introduction. We'd also recommend including a day in the Atlas Mountains.

This holidays works well for couples and for families although we recommend different accommodation in each case. You fly into Marrakech and then our driver takes you straight to the coast at Essaouira. There we recommend 4 nights so you get 3 full days as there is so much to do - camel treks, horse-riding, surfing and the town itself is bliss for souk shopping and great restaurants

Then it is up to Marrakech and you stay either in a riad right in the centre or in the lush olive and palm groves on the edge of the town. The main attraction are the souk tours, the main square in the evenings and the Majorelle gardens. We would also suggest a day trip up into the Atlas Mountains with a guide and lunch in a Berber village (extra £75 per person).
