Join us to explore Hyderabad, the city of Pearls, Moghuls and Nizams. We visit two nearby cities and discover the Deccan Sultanates, Hindu temples and unique forest reserves. After a tiger safari, we return to Hyderabad to stay in a former Nizam palace, restored by the Taj group, where our tour displays the exotic history of this famous dynasty.
Our private, resident guide will accompany us through the sights of the city including the residency of the British White Mughal, revealed by William Dalrymple in his eponymous book; the Charminar, built to memorialise the city’s foundation; and Hyderabad’s many palaces, including the site of the world’s largest wardrobe. We will travel to Golconda, the fortress of the Mughals and the diamond trading centre of the known world and wonder at the tombs of the Nizams, their courtesans and rivals.
