The Ibera and Peninsula Valdes are Argentina's hotspots for wildlife. They are remote, wild and simply beautiful.
This itinerary is the ultimate wildlife experience in Argentina. It combines two of the best places in the country for birdwatching, and spotting land and marine wildlife. It is a must if you love nature and off the beaten path regions. This is a hidden Argentina holiday to places that are remote and less visited.
You will have to be patient, as the Ibera in particular, is not easy to reach. In the itinerary we suggest a long transfer from Iguazu to your estancia, other options include a domestic flight combined to a private one. The logistics will depend on your preference and budget.
This holiday is best taken between June and December, which is the whales season in Patagonia and a good time to visit the Ibera – although Sept to Nov will bring more rain to the wetlands. If you have time, we suggest extending your stay and add a few nights at Bahia Bustamante Lodge, further south from Peninsula Valdes, and even more remote and fascinating corner of the country.
