Delightful walking tour of the Amalfi Coast

We walked from Amalfi to Sorrento in Italy using On Foot holidays. They provided lodging, trail directions and luggage transfer, and we walked independently- there was no tour guide or group, which we preferred. The scenery was fantastic, the trails well marked.

On Foot holidays provided detailed maps, local information and luggage transfer, and booked all our lodging. Their phone app was extremely helpful. They responded to questions promptly. The hotels were clean and comfortable and locally owned.

The scenery was breathtaking, a mixture of distant snow covered mountains, while walking over high hills tops, along ridge lines, into deep valleys, and across upland summer grazing pastures. We stayed in a great selection of stylish residences in picturesque medieval hilltop villages and agriturismos (organic farm B&Bs), met lovely hosts wherever we went, and were (over)fed with delicious produce from the farms where we stayed.

Rating for tour operator:

Could not have been more helpful and friendly. Very clear description of what to expect in the online brochure; good communication beforehand to get everything tailored to our requirements; extremely thorough guidance notes/map/GPS to make navigation easy; good local contact to help if needed. Had done an excellent job of selecting great places to stay and organising all the logistics from start to finish of the walk. Made the whole process completely stress free (except for having to do the actual walking!)

On Foot Holidays - Tuscany by A Maryland wanderer, 10 May 2024

Beautifully planned, flawlessly executed, fabulous walking trip

Our six-day walk through the incredibly beautiful Tuscan landscape, finishing each day in a beautiful hill town where we had delicious meals and wines was all we had hoped for and more. The walking routes were uncrowded, easy to follow with the On Foot guidance. We often felt like we were walking within a painting. A wonderful trip

Carefully planned out route, thoughtfully chosen hotels, arrangements that all went without a hitch - in the incredibly beautiful Tuscan landscape. We couldn't have asked for more! From the first communications with On Foot, we were impressed with the responsiveness, thoughtfulness, and thoroughness with which they treated our holiday plans. They really know what they are doing. I've already booked another holiday with them, and won't hesitate to recommend them to friends and family.

Eight day walking holiday in Nthn Portugal with On Foot

An amazing eight days walking in Nthn Portugal. We loved that everything had been organised and all we had to do was enjoy a fabulous days walk across diverse and interesting landscape. Breakfasts and picnic lunches were provided so we just headed out the door! When we arrived at our accommodation we were greeted by our host who settled us in and provided information on dinner arrangements. So relaxing!

A Fabulous Hiking Trip in Mallorca

We love self guided hiking trips, and seeing that Mallorca has great weather in March, we thoroughly enjoyed leaving a wet and cold Seattle. The trails meander up and down on ancient trails, the blue sea is nearly always visible, the hotels and hosts are all very good to excellent, and each village is unique. Our host in Valdemossa suggested several restaurants, and two of them were our favorites over our ten day holiday. Some hosts provide ...

Our host in Valdemossa suggested several restaurants, and two of them were our favorites over our ten day holiday. Some hosts provide an honor bar, so we could have a cocktail or bottle of wine, and snacks, without leaving the building.

We can’t say enough about On Foot Holidays, from their prompt communication, Walkers Pack and trail info, help by the local contact, transportation suggestions, and more. It left us without any worries so we could completely relax and enjoy being on holiday!

A wonderful 6 day walk in the hills west of Barcelona

We travelled by train from Oxford to Barcelona, spending a few days in Paris. Our On Foot Holidays walk commenced in Poblet, west of Barcelona, and headed south and west into the wine-growing area of El Priorat. A superb route for our self-guided walk, with excellent route notes which guided us well. Accomodation and food, including picnics for our walking days, was also excellent.

On Foot Holidays provided very good information about the route and accomodation on their website. This was backed up by excellent communication by email or by phone. We were able to learn more details of the route from staff who had recently walked the route themselves. Very good maps and route information provided, plus a GPS and map download of the route which was well explained, and worked well. Also helpful and interesting background information re the history of the area, and flora and fauna.

Beauty and Culture in Andalucia’s White Villages

Early April is an excellent time to hike between four distinct villages in Andalucía. Each village was unique in its protective position, either draping a mountain peak or surrounded by verdant cliffs. Between the villages, the self guided hiking trip provides gorgeous views to far flung little white villages, nestled into their landscape. At the end of each long day, we were warmly welcomed to an impeccable inn, and found cold drinks and excellent ...

Between the villages, the self guided hiking trip provides gorgeous views to far flung little white villages, nestled into their landscape. At the end of each long day, we were warmly welcomed to an impeccable inn, and found cold drinks and excellent dining. Our favorite experience was crossing Grazalema Natural Park, an awe inspiring traverse that had us stopping often to take pictures, which could never do it justice, and remark about the colorful spring flowers carpeting the green grass, the remarkable rock formations, and the gentle surrounding hills and peaks.

Rating for tour operator:

This was our eighth trip with On Foot Holidays, and they continually impress us with their personal and professional communication and services. They provide a full package of information, including an excellent Walkers Pack, full of details from local history and culture, to post travel bus and train schedules. Their local contacts have always been very resourceful and friendly. We often remark to fellow walkers of their quality of service, as we know On Foot is superb.

This was our first multi-day hiking holiday and our first with On Foot, but already on the second day we were discussing where we could go next with On Foot. Everything worked like clockwork (and our standards are pretty high since we live in Switzerland and „clockwork“ has a certain implication!), so we could just enjoy the route, our hiking, the Spanish food and the spectacular scenery. The communication both before, during and after the holiday has been clear, personal and professional. Our expectations have certainly been exceeded. Many thanks.
