Explore some of the quieter paths of the North West Lakes with great views of Ullswater, the Helvellyn range and the Borrowdale Fells. There are 2 versions of this walk, a shorter 4 night version for those with less time and the full circular route over 6 nights.
The North Lakes Traverse winds around the Lakes of Ullswater, Thirlmere and Derwentwater, before climbing over the mountain passes that separate them. You will take in the lake shores, fells and mountain passes of the Northern Lakes, and on the way you will experience plunging waterfalls, quiet woodlands and spectacular views as you climb over the fells to stay in some of the prettiest villages of Lakeland.
Wherever possible we have built in high and low level alternatives, so you can choose which path to take according to your ability, or the weather! This route is a fine introduction to the North Western lakes, encompassing plenty of variety.
